The new single by Jimmy Lee Young
Anduhyaun, the new single by multi award winning singer/songwriter Jimmy Lee Young, is a musical spell woven in the magical style of this performer. The song was written, and is dedicated to the battered/homeless women''s shelters throughout Canada. The single mixes slick pop with poetry, and culminates in an explosion of Native cries and energy.
Jimmy enlisted several award winning performers to help in this endeavor. Three time Native American Music Award ("Nammy")winner, and recipient of an American Music Award, legendary performer Felipe Rose of the Village People, appears on the extended version, performing a spoken word recitation of a prayer written by Thomasina E. Jordan.
Yolanda Martinez, Native America''s Best Female Artist of 2005,also appears, graciously offering her talents in the form of beautiful harmonies with Jimmy, and performing the Apache women''s victory cry.
Nashville singing sensation Qua Ti Si, winner of the 2005 "Nammy" for Best Country Album, chants throughout the song as only Qua Ti Si can do!
Seven time nominee to the Native American Music Awards, flautist Eddie Three Eagles appears, weaving his magical notes with such beauty that it promted Jimmy to include him on a solo track.
Country Music award winner Ricky Lewis appears on lead guitar and bass, showing ever more versatility as a performer.
Gil Gabaldon II plays drums, showing a smoothness and texture that is a reflection of his growth as a musician.
Of the project, Jimmy has this to say:" I started this project over a year ago. I was writing the 3rd CD,but when I heard about Anduhyaun, I didn''t want to wait to get it out there. Who knew Katrina would strike, and hold it up for so many months? I am pleased that the song has gotten a positive reaction from the fans, and I have already written the songs for the 3rd JLY CD, which will begin recording in February 2005."
Taking advantage of new technologies in mastering, specifically the inventions of industry great John Vestman, Jimmy has included 5 re-mastered songs from the first 2 CD''s, to make 8 tracks in all.
This project is a perfect introduction to new listeners of Jimmy''s music.
Jimmy Lee Young has been contacted by Blanche Meawassige, CEO of Anduhyaun, Inc., and will soon be their national spokesperson. He is tentatively scheduled to play there in June 2007.
