John started playing the piano at five years old, and hasn''t looked back. After the mandatory classical lessons, John switched over to jazz and pop, taking lessons from a variety of teachers throughout high school and college, and performing at bars and local venues everywhere. John is a true musician - as real as it gets. With so many performers who rely on the talents of other musicians for material to perform, John is a refreshing newcomer with an original sound and original material. His unique style combines many genres of music. His lyrics are simple but identifiable; they speak of life, love, and the full range of emotion in between. John''s first album, ''The Turning'', appropriately blends several musical styles with a sound that is very much his own. "It''s from the heart, but there''s a lot of fun mixed in there as well," said John of his album.
John collaborated on ''The Turning'' with his high school friend Chris Bushart, who also has spent many years cultivating his musical talents. Where John stayed with the piano, Chris turned more towards singing - having sung in chamber choirs as well as rock bands. Many of the vocal harmonies on the album can be attributed to Chris''s creativity.
Rich Liegey, another Long Island native, is first known for playing bass in the band Wheatus (Columbia) where he began to learn how to record and engineer sound. He later wrote and recorded the ending credit theme song for Jackie Chan''s Saturday Morning Cartoon, as well as recording and producing several jingles (Toys R Us, Dr. Pepper, among others).
