I was born on Vancouver Island in Canada, where a number of extremely talented musicians have sprouted such as Diana Krall and Nelly Furtado. I have dual citizenship with Australia, and spend my time divided between Canada, Australia and Japan. For over 20 years I have worked as a musician. I have lived in many parts of the world and jammed with many amazing musicians. I’ve experienced adventures beyond my expectations and life just keeps getting better. Music has been the map to every corner I turn and the roads are almost always new and never ending. All in all, I feel extremely lucky to have traveled with music by my side. I love performing and I have done so at many types of venues, including T.V., radio, film, festivals, weddings, clubs, bars, and even the streets. I was a busker for a big part of my teenage years and it really helped define my skills and personality. Recently, I have been used as a hired songwriter, producer, and lyricist for other artists/companies. I speak Japanese and feel knowing a second language has altered the way I view the world and it is reflected in my lyrics. In my spare time I love to play Ice-hockey, snowboard, and go road and Mt. Biking. The lazy side of me likes to watch a great movie or DVD and work with photography and DV. Any questions, feel free to email. I look forward to hearing from you. Kelly Pettit.
