LIFE IMAGES CD-THE INSPIRATION FOR EACH TRACK

1. Life Images

Life is a journey full of images. Many of them are wonderful and we keep them for ever in our heart and in our memory. They give us strength to face the difficult times of our life. That's why Life Images are always the good ones.

2. Lost Hopes

Sometimes we feel depressed because we have lost our hopes for something that was our dream. This is part of our life and we can't avoid it. The solution in times like this is to accept it and move on.

3. On the Road to Italy

On the April of 1994 I went to Italy together with about 30 fellow students from the Physics Department of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. This trip remained to me unforgettable as I had a blast! There is something about being a member of a college gang that just is impossible to find later in our life when we all become a lot more serious and less spontaneous than we should, not allowing ourselves to enjoy life, with the foolish excuse that we have grown up. This piece was composed on the bus while I was going to Italy. I was still in Hellenic territory, and I was having a great time. That is why this is a happy piece in the Hellenic meter of 7/8.

4. Sistine Chapel

I went to Sistine Chapel during the trip I mentioned above and I did not need more than the ten minutes I was allowed to stay inside to compose this piece, being incredibly inspired from the majestic beauty of Sistine Chapel. Compositionally speaking, this was the most powerful experience of my life.

5. Walking in Venice

Venice was the last visit of my trip to Italy. I first visited Venice at night, and I was amazed with its poetic beauty, being transported to a different century. These powerful sentiments made me compose this piece at the next day as I was walking in Venice with my friends.

6. Summer Night

A summer night is one of the most beautiful and inspiring life images. When you are away from the city, relaxing in a house next to the sea, feeling the breeze and listening to the sea waves with the moon above you. In moments like this you understand that life is a wonderful gift, and you are thankful for it.

7. The Joy of Life

Life is full of joy when you are ready to feel it. Even in the simplest things you can find pleasure. That's why living is a joy.

8. Without Identity

This piece was composed as the main theme of the short film with the same name directed by Konstantinos Topalis. He specifically requested for a dark piece for cello, and later asked for a violin accompaniment. Despite the fact that it was composed for this purpose, this piece conveys a mood representative of how we feel when nothing goes right and we feel lost, without identity.

9. Pain

Pain is an integral ingredient of life, and he is the biggest teacher. When we are ready to accept and understand his lessons we will improve and we will be able to enjoy life more.

10. My Best Memories

My best memories have always a special place in my heart. They are vivid, they seem to have happened only yesterday, and I am so thankful that I made them. Hopefully, in the journey of my life I will make more and better!

11. The Games of Fate

Sometimes fate is cruel on us, and we wonder what we did that was wrong and why we deserve this. We feel sad, and this is normal. The thing is that after bad times, good times are ahead. We should never lose our faith on this.

12. The Spirit of Love

What can one say about love, the most wonderful thing in our life? You can only understand it when you experience it, when you give and receive love. Either way, the feeling is unbeatable. Hopefully, the magical sound of the piano will make you feel again what is the spirit of love.
