Welcome to a musical glimpse of life set in the diverse cultural landscape of Los Angeles. The songs are tales of lust and love. A jazzy trip will transport you from sunny beaches to dark nightclubs in the decadent company of worldly jazz musicians, tanned surfers, beautiful strangers, and exotic dreamers all in one day...and of course there is a little vacation to Italy thrown in.

She pulls you in with a sultry voice you feel you know, only to whipser something you never expected with a delivery that says, she knows something you don''t, but wants to tell if you''ll let her. But the story wouldn''t end there. Though its clearly a lot of fun, it would be superficial to dismiss this as simply lounge as there''s a lot more going on. It''s too unique and there''s a definite island feel to everything, regardless of the chosen groove it''s set to. It''s music to have a hip weekend in the Bahamas or Bermuda by. The sex and relationship material is all taken from (someone''s) reality but is good-natured and she leaves you with no doubt that it could happen to you. Along with the tongue-in-cheekiness, there''s a cool, funky kind of kitsch happening as Larkin''s voice is ever present to cajole, inflame and inspire desire, but after all, that''s what this collection is all https://www.tradebit.com (Mike Brannon)

Hot and sultry vocals against a bossa nova and jazz background tell the age old story about lust and love and sex and everything between. Sensuous lyrics that are told with breathy and wispy vocals will titillate your inner sensuality. Soulful jazz blues that are fit for lounges or hipster living rooms. And despite the title this isn’t a vulgar album whatsoever—unless you’re too much of a prude to a beautiful lady in her underwear. I like the Tahitian influences that popped up on a couple of the https://www.tradebit.com (https://www.tradebit.com)

This is the 2nd collaboration for Larkin McLean and producer Kenny Lyon. This time all the songs are originals written by them. The title is X-rated musical, but it''s a whimsical PG-13. Yes, that''s a Tahitian ukulele and accordion you hear on the title track.

Geoffrey Tozer-(backup vocals on X-rated Musical)Born with a martini in one hand and a grand piano in the other music and swank have always been central in Geoffrey''s life. Breastfed by mom and given a deep grounding jazz and blues by dad he absorbed the masters; Cole Porter, Duke Ellington, Johnny Mercer and Warren Zevon. . At age 6 he bought his first Armani tuxedo. After mesmerizing the Manhattan piano bar crowd he oozed West to California convinced that palm trees and swank could thrive together very nicely. So far so good. Writing music and songs for movies (Car 54 Where Are You?, Sensations, 9 1/2 Ninjas, When The Party''s Over among others) he realized he''d have to perform with a band to be fulfilled. The Swank Pharaohs were born and the sly lizard has never looked back. Once he gets behind a piano you''ve practically got to pry him out of there. Languid bluesy crooning over sultry bongo funk lounge music has become his trademark. James Taylor meets Etta James. Informed by the dry wit of Elvis Costello and Mose Allison his lyrics tell modern day love stories with a wry twist. Song titles like "Baby I''m Strange For You", "Mr. Lucky" and "Dr. Peculiar" offer a glimpse of the intriguing tableau fermenting in his mind.

A note on the voice that pops-up in "Nobody Gets Over Ava":

While Kenny and I were recording "X-Rated," we took a break and went to lunch at the HMS Bounty on Wilshire Boulevard, Kenny said Hi to some old tenor-sax-man named Corky, one of the Bounty''s regulars -- so regular he even has a booth named for him. Kenny told me Corky used to play with Lionel Hampton.

Because one of my most-most-favorite-all-time jazz cuts is Hampton''s 11-minute "Stardust" recorded at a 1947 Pasadena Civic concert, I asked Kenny to introduce me. When I told Corky how much I loved my CD of that ''47 concert, he said he had a recording but wished "Stardust" had been included -- it had one of his best-ever solos. Why they left it out of the release he couldn''t fathom.

I said "Uh.... I have a CD of that ''47 concert -- and it includes "Stardust." His eyes kinda popped. Can''t be, he said, he''d been searching for close to 60 years for that ''47 "Stardust." I gave him a copy the next day. He was so happy that... well, now we''re friends. The background voice-over you hear in "Nobody Gets Over Ava" is Corky''s.-Larkin McLean
