Details:
Michelle Snyder was born and raised in Traverse City, Michigan, also known as the ''Cherry Capital of the World'', a resort town with a population of 14,468. A town where Michelle spent four full seasons either down hill or cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, sledding, ice skating, ice fishing or camping, swimming, fishing, boating, and water skiing,

Encouraged by her parents, she studied piano, like her mother, both grandmothers, and aunts before her. She became interested in popular music at a young age while listening to country and polka music. Although she enjoyed the piano, she was shy and preferred to play in ''invitation-only'' mini-recitals for family and friends. She adds, "School was ok, but I couldn''t wait to get off that school bus and run home down the stairs to the basement where I would sing and dance along with my favorite records." Michelle''s collection included The Carpenters, Patsy Cline, The Judds, Barbara Mandrell, Anne Murray, REO Speed Wagon, and even Whitesnake.

She refined her dancing skills while taking ballet and jazz classes at the Dance Arts Academy in Traverse City and with an occasional night out for a Polka dance with her dad. Her official ''public debut'' was the Traverse City High School talent show, where she sang solo for her class of 750 students. She then joined the church youth choir, and soon her talent afforded her the opportunity to sing in several adult choirs, as well as play piano for special events in church. Still, her free time was spent alone doing what she loved most, writing poetry and songs and singing.

After graduating high school, Michelle took voice lessons at Northwestern Michigan College, and then attended Chattanooga State Community College, Chattanooga Tennessee studying music. She became a member of the Chattanooga State Choir, and also performed solos with the Chattanooga State Show Stoppers. While attending C.S.C.C, Michelle spent her days in the classroom and her evenings expanding the ''performer'' in her as she performed with local bands, karaoke contests, and talent shows - winning over the audiences with her raw and radiant performances.

While still playing the piano from time to time, it wasn''t until her move to Nashville that she purchased her first guitar at a pawn shop. "I don''t know why it took me so long to pick up the guitar, because it is so much fun to play and new songs just stream out," says this self taught singer songwriter who resides just outside of Nashville, Tennessee with her husband and their two children.

Now, Michelle spends her spare time writing, and performing locally and regionally around Nashville. In 2001, she released her debut CD "CARELESS" (featuring all original country songs) and was named "Artist of the Month" in August of 2001 on Country Music USA Radio. She was also featured in the Nashville Panorama, Nashville Music Guide and has gained International attention from Internet radio sites.

Michelle Snyder has developed a soulful, melodic style all her own that is rich emotionally, as well as rhythmically and lyrically. Her unique sound is a perfect blend of energy, simplicity and honesty - and has meaningful appeal on many levels.
