Details:
The Mick Hayes Band formed in 2003 in Western New York as a blues trio and has matured today into an original band deeply rooted in blues and R&B. The conducting light ahead of it is Mick Hayes who presents himself with vintage style, tattoos, trademark pulse driven guitar tone, a winners grin and vocals that seem forceful, yet silky.

Mick Hayes was a given a guitar at age seven by his parents who were both musicians and has spent the last twenty years honing in on his craft. He took guitar lessons till the of age nine and he then quit in frustration with his instructors pace for teaching. Soon he was learning from his father a blues guitar aficionado as well as learning by himself from the family''s record collection. Two months after turning 21 Mick joined up with Buffalo Hall of Fame group Only Humen where he learned the business and how to be a true entertainer. In the summer of 1999 Only Humen was asked to be the opening band for both Marshall Tucker and Molly Hatchett. From then of Only Humen recorded an all original album entitled Slightly Twisted Fiction in 2000 of which Mick contributed four songs to. In those four years he learned all the qualities to be successful on his own. This was where he got that famous four gigs a week work ethic from.

When Mick decided to leave Only Humen he was almost 24. He had a strong grip on the necessary showmanship and the business aspect of the entertainment world. It was time to try the ideas that he had not been able to execute until now. Mick worked hard to form a power trio in the spirit of all his influences. On January 25th the first debut of the Mick Hayes Band took place and by that November Mick won Best Blues Guitarist of 2003. The new power trio proved it self when they fiercely competed in the International Blues Challenge in Memphis Tennessee in January 2004 placing tenth in the Nation.

After multiple personnel changes in the search for perfect chemistry it was in the summer of 2004 The MHB decided to work harder and more frequently to achieve their well deserved success. Together they brought home awards in five categories that year including:
Best Blues Band
Best Blues Bassist
Best Blues Drummer
Best Blues Male Vocalist
Best Blues Guitarist

In January of 2005 Mick found the time to release an acoustic album titled: Michael.....the other side of me. The album was well received locally and the self revealing song When you Smile was featured on Buffalo’s 97 Rock.

For a short stint Mick embarked on a Canadian Tour with national recording artist Nigel Mack and the Blues Attack . Upon returning, the MHB entered the studio on June 7, 2005 to start the recording of their first studio album. The MHB recorded eight songs in those sessions with help from guest keyboardist, singer & songwriter, Will Champlin son of Chicago’s grammy winning member, Bill Champlin.

One year almost to the date the MHB listed accomplishments including: Three live CD’s, A solo acoustic CD, multiple awards and in September 2005 after playing in excess of 125 dates in less than a year the MHB relocated to the Atlanta, Georgia area to finish their studio album and begin to tour the Southern region and the Eastern coast as well.

Since the move south, the band and has been working with Engineer/producer Jimmy Daniel. Whose list of accolades ranges from The Killers, U2, Widespread Panic, Nickelback to Gretchen Wilson.

Early this summer the MHB released an EP aptly named Segue to alert and appease their loyal followers of what''s to come in the future. Segue features four studio tracks and two live tracks. On a short five date tour in early June of 2006 the MHB sold almost 200 copies.

In fall of 2006 the MHB decided to expand to a four piece with the addition of a second guitar. They now have the abillities of harmony guitar work and it also gives Mick a chance to front the band for a few of those more tender moments the band is known for. Together: Clarence Lamont (Drums), Nick Johnson (Guitar), Trey Lander (Basss) and Mick have only just begun to revelate the power they will have after getting to know eachother.

With a lot of faith in the work they have done over the last two years the band is seeking serious management and major label representation for their bourgeoning future.
