Marcie started her singing career in 1960 at the age of fifteen in Australia with the Thunderbirds at Canterbury Ballroom and Preston Town Hall. She then joined up with Normie Rowe and The Playboys. In 1963 she joined the cast of the GO SHOW, the television show which was to make her a household name throughout Australia. Marcie appeared on every national TV variety show in Australia over four decades. In 1967 Marcie together with the Cook sisters Margaret, Beverley and Wendy formed Marcie and The Cookies, which became the top female singing group in Australia. During 1969 and 1970, Marcie and The Cookies performed extensively throughout Asia and Europe and toured the United Kingdom with Cliff Richard and the Shadows. Marcie has toured with The Seekers, Tom Jones. Marcie and The Cookies have toured with The Monkees, Cliff Richard and Gene Pitney. Marcie and The Cookies are still performing as a world class act and celebrated thirty eight years in 2006. Marcie and The Cookies have just completed the 1st CD, "Marcie Jones and The Cookies". (visit https://www.tradebit.com& In 1987 Marcie was presented with an award from WEA Records for her contribution to Australian music. In the Nineties Marcie worked sold out shows with the Johnny Young Band and Jamie Redfern at Australia''s (Melbourne)Crown Casino and a mini tour which included shows with Frankie J Holden and Johnny O’Keefes’ original band. In 1999, Marcie released a four track CD titled “Pure Heart”. One of the tracks from this, her own composition “George Jones” written about her Father won her a nomination at the 1999 Victorian Country Music Awards for Best Female Singer. She has won further nominations in the same category for the 2000, 2001, 2002, 2003 and 2004 awards singing her own songs “ Butterfly of Love”, “Where are you Now”, “Long Boots” , “The Vow” and “Good For The Goose”. Marcie has been nominated for best female vocal in the Victorian Country Music Awards for 2006 singing her own composition THE GREAT DIVIDING RANGE. In June, 2001 Marcie was inducted into the Queensland Gold Coast Wintersun Rock and Roll Hall of fame. On stage Marcie performs with vitality a repertoire of commercial covers, rock ’n roll and her own country style compositions and remains one of Australias most dynamic female performers. Marcie is currently performing to sellout houses with Johnny Young and Normie Rowe in the show Legends of Oz Rock. She has just released her new album “HERE I AM” which has 15 tracks, 13 of which are her original songs, plus two bonus tracks. The song NOTHIN’ THAT A FOOL WON’T DO Marcie co-wrote with Gavan Anderson, a member of Bluestone. Marcie is currently working with the Cookies, celebrating 38 years together as Australias premier female vocal group and they have just released their first CD. Some of Marcie''s Recordings Include: "I Would If I Could" - Marcie and The Cookies "That Girl Jones" - featuring "Gonna Get Married, "Armed & Extremely Dangerous", winning Best Produced Single of The Year for Tweed Harris, from The Groove. Marcie has recently written and recorded many new songs which she includes in her performances. In the year 2006, Marcie sings with that strong sassy voice and entertains in the way she loves. Her charisma, enthusiasm and ability to relate to an audience has found her a new legion of fans.
