Salt Lake City, Early 1992. Malignant Inception was formed by Ed Price, Steve Lea and Chad Kasimatis. Soon after, Dave Jelsma was recruited for Bass Guitar. Through the years Malignant Inception has gone through many lineup changes. In 1995, after going in the studio and being dissatisfied with the outcome, MI removed Steve Lea from drums and recruited Tim Riley. With Chad now singing, Ed playing guitar, Tim on drums and Dave on bass, MI started re-writing the old and writing the new. A year and a half later they went into the studio to record their 11 song debut album entitled "Black Death" and released it in early 1997 on Cassette through Slaughterhouse Records. It was distributed and sold worldwide to an enthusiastic response. With that done, Malignant Inception''s imprint on the world was made. Unfortunately, that album was not given the publicity push it deserved and shortly after, Malignant Inception once again went into hiatus. During this period MI tried to start back up again recruiting a second guitarist Mike Kimball from local band Disordered. But after 4 new songs completed Tim Riley left the band; the songs never reached a studio. (Mike Kimball Was recruited by Dying Fetus) Members went to school and self study. (Black Death was re-released on Cd with updated cover art in 2004.)

It''s early spring, 2003. Ed and Dave are discussing how their musical tastes have changed over the years and want to start up Malignant Inception again only this time pioneering a sound that no one can touch; incorporating the styles that all the members find appealing in music to give fans a fresh new approach to extreme metal. With this thought, Malignant Inception will need some new members and a clean slate. The first person recruited was Todd Weir, formerly of Disordered. Dave decided to lay down the bass and move to keyboards. MI still needed a second Guitarist a bass player and a vocalist. After only a couple try-outs a fan of the band, Zakk Muffett came along with his young throat and his seemingly endless energy and was recruited in the vocal department. Several guitarists and headaches later MI came across Tyler Harvey. His talent and dedication was a breath of fresh air and he became the second guitarist. With this line-up Malignant Inception went into the studio and created their Second full length album entitled "Path to Repression" Once the recording was done, Dave went back to bass and Carreen Price came in to take over keyboards. Malignant Inception has always been ahead of their time and has been raising the bar with each step. The new material sounds like nothing of the past and promises nothing but the best to come. MI fears no obstacle and has come out with a vengence this time, showing no signs of slowing. Prepare for the quietus we call...Malignant Inception.
