This CD was recorded in Ambiance Studios in Kansas City by a cult favorite indie comics and album artist, Mickmo. Nemesis Star is the solo-project of this innovative and perservering creative genious.
In the early days of metal, Mickmo helped with Pandemia’s Personal Demon on song revisions. But also on notable album works, he has done album works for Grenouer’s Presence With War on CD Maximum in Russia and Punished Earth’s Ruined Empire on Uxicon Records in Belgium. He has also done web art for Origin on Relapse Records.
Well one day, this dark entity woke up at the humble age of 32 to record music, and the rest, they say, is history. The music itself took over when the other stuff didn''t. Combining doomful melodies of sadness and depression into each and every work of sonic heartache, Nemesis Star is an epic in every sense of the word.
There were rumors of hauntings and odd occurences during the recording of Solace Of Shadows. Such things as lights flickered on and off, strange noises, mysterious slamming of doors, missing MP3s and even master CDs that did not burn right half of the time. This was recorded over a 4 day period.
This is an extention of what Mickmo is all about, beautiful artistry disguised as utter anguish and pain. Now the story can be told in the music itself in a haunting tale of darkness.
One must absorb themselves into these long spiraling epics, that range from 8 to 15 minutes long, to appreciate the tracks for what they are. This release is well worth checking out for that and the killer cover art itself.
Nemesis Star is truly a emcompassing effort and a total ambient masterpiece into the unknown!
