Nanette Perrotte has arranged Johnny Mercer classics to fit her sassy cabaret with stylistic nods to English Dance Hall Music, Queen and French Cabaret. In addition to the Johnny Mercer material, Nanette and lyricist Sebastian Lockwood debut original songs true to the styles of country great Emmy Lou Harris, crooner Johnny Hartman and contemporary swing artist Lyle Lovett.

Johnny Mercer, one of America''s classic lyricists comes to life with updated arrangements and a contemporary verve. Born in 1909 on 226 East Gwinnett Street in Savannah Georgia, Mr. Mercer wrote many of our most loved songs such as Moon River, Blues in The Night and the plaintive and longing tunes Midnight Sun and Autumn Leaves.

With his classic southern style and showbiz kick, Johnny Mercer penned lyrics and melodies that melt in a singer''s mouth. His ability to dramatize a lyric and paint clear imagery with his melody makes the singers job a relatively easy one. You just have to have the guts and energy to do it!

In performance, woven between the Mercer pieces, is the tale of an artist who''s love of literature, drama, dance and song made him into a music industry powerhouse in the 40''s, 50''s and today. The complicated and ill-fated love affair with Judy Garland also plays into the telling of Johnny Mercer''s life, times and melodies.

Nanette began her study of music at the age of 11 with voice and piano lessons, in Classical, Broadway, Jazz , Country and Rock. Her BA is from Berklee College of Music in Jazz Composition and Arranging and her M. Ed is from Lesley University.

Perrotte works as an educator, performer and composer. Her teaching at the Master''s level is for Endicott College . Nanette specializes in using music, voice and dance to teach math and reading.

Currently, Nanette is writing new songs for an upcoming CD, tentative release date is November 2006.

Nanette and her husband, Sebastian Lockwood produced the project "Emily Dickinson Rock" a CD and companion book that highlights the contemporary power of poet Emily Dickinson. "Zero At The Bone- Emily Dickinson Rock" puts the poetry of Emily Dickinson to Nanette''s original Rock and Jazz music while Sebastian Lockwood provides a historical reference woven through the songs.

VoiceYoga is a program developed by Perrotte that integrates sound with yoga postures and movement. Classes run weekly in her home state of New Hampshire and as workshops in Massachusetts.
