In ancient times the dead were carried over the river Styx by the ferryman Kharon. But not all could make the nescessary payment and so they were not allowed to enter the underworld. Usually two coins had to be placed on either the eyes or under the tongue of the dead to pay the ferryman. The ones who couldn''t pay him were still carried over, but they have to roam the dark shores of the river eternally. To releive their existence in the dark, they tell their stories to the ferryman, who then carries them back over the river into our world. Juergen Reiter is the ferryman who tells the stories of the ghouls of the river Styx.
