Jimmi Carr is a singer/songwriter from the Blue Mountains in New South Wales, Australia. He has released 4 albums, most recently through VITAMIN RECORDS.
Jimmi''s music is both original and accessible. He draws on a wide range of influences that move through Folk, Funk, Blues, Reggae, Rock and Hip Hop. Jimmi is making a name for himself as a passionate performer and songwriter. He displays an impressive pop sensibility and classic song writingskills. His music is rootsy and lyrical, often with a funk/rock edge, and has been described as “Ben Harper meets Beck”.
As a teenager, Jimmi played in a funk metal fusion outfit ''Tang'', which toured extensively, playing major festivals and supporting bands such as D.I.G. Since then Jimmi has played his own music solo and in acoustic and electric bands. He has gigged constantly, playing on bills with acts including XAVIER RUDD, JEFF LANG, HARRY MANX, LIOR and HERMITUDE. Jimmi and his band have been building a steady following and impressing people wherever they go.
Jimmi’s first album, The Recipe was released through Shoestring Records in 2004. Since then, the
album has had airplay on JJJ, among many other national and international radio stations and received
glowing reviews.
Between 2004 and the present the JIMMI CARR BAND has toured the country consistently and been
extremely well received. his second album, Bright Black Sky received national airplay on ABC radio and
got a huge amount of support from community radio all over the country. It received excellent reviews.
Jimmi''s most recent album, "All the Pieces" is a double album, showcasing both the harder edged,
groove driven side of what the band does as well as a disc dedicated to Jimmi''s more folk-oriented, lyrical side. This album has also received plenty of airplay and been embraced by many as Jimmi''s most
user-friendly and direct work.

Jimmi and his band have played at many leading Australia venues, including The Basement, @Newtown, the
Vanguard, the Heritage (Bulli) and the Northern Star (Newcastle), Bar Open in Melbourne and the
Troubadour in Brisbane.
Jimmi has recorded with the help of some of the best musicians in the country, including members of
HERMITUDE, PETE DRUMMOND, and JOHN STUART (session player for The Dissociatives)
Jimmi''s new album, UPSTREAM has a largely acoustic, groove driven feel and is Jimmi''s most accessible and consistent album so far.
You can catch Jimmi touring with his new band, which includes Dan Wheatley on drums, Tim Coggins on bass and Will Stoltz on electric guitar.
They will be touring over coming months to support the new album.
