The sextet Quejas de Bandoneón (Cristina Bertoli flute-Marco Fabbri bandoneon-Daniel Pacitti bandoneon-Alessandro Bonetti violin-Marco Forti double-bass-Stefano Giavazzi piano.) was founded in 1997 by the flute player Cristina Bertoli. Thanks to the passionate work of the bandoneon player Marco Fabbri, who devoted himself to transcriptions from old recordings dating back to the golden age of tango, the group disposes today upon a large repertory, including pieces of “classical” authors like Juan de Dios Filiberto, Anibal Troilo, Agustin Bardi, Horacio Salgàn, Osvaldo Pugliese, up to Astor Piazzolla and his Tango Nuevo.
After the debut, occurred during the final evening of the International Competition Astor Piazzolla in Castelfidardo (1997), the sextet made soon rich musical experiences through co-operations with prestigious dancers like, among others, Javier Rodriguez and Geraldine Rojas (performers of the movie “Assassination Tango” by R. Duvall), Adrian Aragon and Erica Boaglio (dancers in the show “Forever tango” by Miguel Angel Zotto), as well as with Luciano Padovani''s “Compagnia Naturalis Labor”.
Quejas de Bandoneón played also in the most important international dance festivals, from the Festival “Volterrateatro.00” – where the sextet represents ethnic music together with artists like Herminia and Goran Bregovic – to Sala Tripcovich in Trieste, from the Summerfestival in Sasso Marconi (from 1998 to 2006) to the “Sannazzaro” in Neaple, from Bologna, Ferrara, Bozen to Lucerne, Bucarest, Istanbul and Munich, where the sextet participated in the Latin Classix show in the celebrated Philharmonie am Gasteig. In October 2002, the first tour in the United States, with exibitions in New York, Washington, Philadelphia.
Present cd features Quejas de Bandoneón’s first live recording, made on the July, 3 2009 at the Candiani Theatre, Mestre, during the show “Por las calles de Buenos Aires”.
