Dear Juby (VC127),
Thank you for your last letter, I was very happy to hear from you again. So far, I have written 5 drafts of this letter, none of which sounded the way I wanted. I hope this one will be different.
Although there are nearly 30 years between us, I know we will have much in common. My work takes me to exotic lands much like your own and I find learning about foreign cultures exciting. The United States is a great place to live, and I could call no other country home, but I find the mysterious East fascinating. I also enjoy food from the Orient.
My home is simple, yet cozy. I am sure that you would find it comfortable and the small kitchen more than accommodating. From the kitchen window you can see a small creek running through my property and, from time to time, small animals will wander up into the yard to say "hello". Do you like animals, Juby?
I am very glad to hear that family is important to you because it is also very important to me. I like to have my brothers over a few times a month to watch football and talk about things. I don''t see my parents too much anymore but sometimes we will pick them up and have a big family barbecue. A lot of times I think about having kids. I read that you have no children of your own, but I wonder would you like to have them in the future? Having kids is something that I think is important. You are are a good age for having kids because you have the energy for keeping up with them.
