RON SMOOTH, BIO.
Ron Smooth came from the streets of South Central Los Angeles and quickly became a product of his own environment. Never siding with the Bloodz and Cripz, Ron hustled hard and went to school. Raised by his single mother, Ron looked to the streets for guidance, found it, and began to "ball." Soon Mom''z would drop off the scene due to her addictions, or divine providence, and left Smooth in between a rock and a hard place, homeless in the ghetto streets. This is when Ron Smooth was born. Having to hustle everyday of his life to make ends meet Ron defined himself as a smooth hustla''. Ron began his cutthroat education and quickly graduated. He''s an expert when it comes to the street codes and ethics on the streets of L.A. Since rap was getting popular and the basis for rap was people''s struggles, Ron quickly put two and two together and said, "You mean to tell me that my struggles can make me rich?" That''s when he began to give birth to his passion for rap and producing music and would later turn his childhood dream into his own business.
In 97'' Ron joined the rap trio, "PE-DA-DE." The unsigned group split after personal discrepancies between members. In 98'' Ron linked up with another unsigned group called "Bad Habbits." This group of gangstas'' and hustlas'' seemed like more of a home for Ron, but when production levels decreased Ron kept moving in search of his dreams. In 00'' Smooth hooked up with aspiring producers Derek and Thomas Organ. They had done music for "Janet", "Pac" and "Snoop." Ron figured since they had been in the game they could help him. After recording only five songs in one year Ron was fed up with other peoples b.s.'' and bought a small recording studio and started his own record label, TSO. He began writing and recording his first album in 01''. The album entitled, 360 Degreez of Game debuted in 03''. Off the album the song titled "All Day All Night" caught the attention of Kevin McCafee of "McCafee and Associates" and was used on the Beyond The Gates movie soundtrack.
Ron Smooth continued his hustle in 03, selling over 10,000 copies of his debut album out the trunk'', finishing his second album West Cost Dope, and receiving his BS in Business Management/Human Resources.
To date, Ron has moved over 14,000 units independently, including 2000 of the new West Coast Dope album. In 04'' Ron landed a licensing deal with "Access Music" and has been asked to do some acting and recording for "Play Boy." Recently the "NFL" has asked Ron Smooth to use some of his music as well. Smooth is in the studio recording his third album and won''t be stopped. Ron Smooth is now performing regularly and looking for the next level of his career.
Smooth is truly professional but also has the streets on lock. Ron mix''s his albums on Pro Tools and sales them at the swap meets, "Ghetto Fabulous." Ron is a business minded, street bred hustla'' and has created a buzz'' on the West Coast due to gorilla tactics. Ron Smooth has made his mark on the streets from Long Beach to Hollywood, from Pomona to Santa Monica, as the cream of the crop when it comes to quality and style.
