BIography:
Jamie K. Auberg (b. 1975), composer, author, and music educator, is a versatile artist who is involved in many aspects of the arts. He graduated cum laude from Christopher Newport University with a Bachelor’s of Music Degree and a Virginia State Teacher’s License. At Christopher Newport University he studied composition with Master Sergeant Aldo Forte (composer for the Langley Air Force Band – now retired). As a composer, Mr. Auberg is a prolific writer, posting new compositions on his website, https://www.tradebit.com, regularly. He has two compositions published with Tuba Press and Alcove Publications respectively. His piece, “Battles for the Soul” for two clarinets and guitar has been recorded with Leonarda Productions on an album entitled “Unforgettable Hues.” He has also had his clarinet quartet “A Prayer and a Praise” taken on a summer tour by the Langley Air Force Band Clarinet Quartet. While at CNU he participated in a Masterclass with composer George Crumb. As a music educator, Mr. Auberg teaches at three private academies and has written several music method books. He is the band director at Hampton Christian Academy, the elementary music and choir director at Denbigh Christian Academy, and a private lessons instructor for clarinet and piano at Centerstage Academy. Some of his books include “Learning in Harmony for Clarinet,” “Seeking New Heights (for the Development of the Altissimo Register of the Clarinet),” “Learning in Harmony for Piano,” and “Making a Joyful Noise! A Christian Based Approach to Music Theory in the Classroom.” Mr. Auberg also enjoys performing on his clarinet. He has his own musical group called Tonal Majesty which incorporates live instruments with his “Electronic Orchestra.” In previous years, he has performed in the Fest Haus Band at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Virginia, the CNU Wind Ensemble, The York River Orchestra, and the Peninsula Youth Orchestra. In July 2008 and 2010, he performed several works from his new CD album at the Phi Beta Fraternity National Conventions. He has produced several CD albums, which are for sale at https://www.tradebit.com. But music is not the only artistic endeavor Mr. Auberg enjoys. He also writes novels and produces amateur films. He has written several movie scripts and musical scores for his own films. He has produced a couple short films and has produced a feature length film, which was premiered in July 2008 at the Phi Beta Fraternity National Convention in Williamsburg, Virginia. His films and the movie can be viewed on https://www.tradebit.com. He also composed the music to the Virginia Film Co.’s movie “Honorable Men” (available from https://www.tradebit.com) as well as editing much of the video and audio in the film. He is serving as Assistant Director, Sound Editor, and Composer on the Virginia Film Company’s projects, the most recent of which is documentary with New York Time’s Best Seller Dr. Raymond Moody. Mr. Auberg has also ventured into the business world. He was the manager of Music Central, a retail music store in Virginia, and then became the owner of EMP Music following Music Central’s demise. He is currently on the board of directors for the Peninnsula Youth Orchestra, President of Pi Alpha Upsilon (a local chapter of Phi Beta), and Creative Director for the nonprofit organization TogetherWeShow, which works with special needs students who desire to perform.
