Savear (pronounced severe) is the true creator of The Music Cartel Sound which is a smooth blend of HipHop/Pop replete with smooth catchy choruses, happy horror chords, neck snapping drum kits, piano rolls, and captivating polysynths. Adopted at birth in 1982 born in Charlotte, NC Savear began rapping and producing at Richland Northeast High School. Savear is a hiphop lyricist ( a favorite at the Tuesday night freestyle battles at the Brooklyn Tavern) and his content can be compared to Nas, Kanye West etc,. Savear believes that his melody and harmony writing gifts are God given and he aspires to write for every genre imaginable. His musical inspirations include everything from the Motown catalog of 1959-1972, anything that James Jamerson played bass on, James Brown, Little Richard, Mutt Lagne, Max Martin, Prince etc,. Savear considers himself to be a songwriter/producer/recording artist and it is to be read in that category with songwriter and producer first. Savear writes jingles and wants to venture into film scoring. He is currently working on his first EP “A Night In A UFO”. Savear has even produced for metal band Harsh Reality on their independent release “The Soundtrack To The Ted Bundy Killing Spree” (He wrote 8 of the 13 songs on the album). Savear was released from federal prison (Edgefield FCI) in 2008 after completing a 4 year stint for counterfeiting and voweled to change hip hop forever.
Savear is currently the choir/musical director for his local church World Harvest Ministry which houses about 600 people every Sunday, he will be stepping down from that position this year to pursue his music career professionally. Savear’s objective is to receive a music publishing or recording contract so that his gifts can be taken to the ultimate plateau. In 2008 Savear began recording with a reclusive female singer by the name of PA Star, instantly the two realized they captured a distinct harmony together that diverse audiences felt moved by and immediately the Music Cartel was created. They began recording demo’s at Savear’s home studio called “The Governor’s Mansion”. If you are not interested in signing another rap act right now thats perfectly understandable. Savear plans are to restore hip hop back to where it truly belongs, in the hands of actual lyricist. He also works as an inventor in his spare time and is currently working on the constructions of his first prototype for a digital tombstone. He is currently a student at MTI pursuing a degree in Sound Engineering. Savear is the next artist to look out for in the year 2011 he is expected by music industry professionals to make a big impact on the music scene and take hiphop to the next level. For Savear’s production he uses Motif 8, Triton, Roland 808, MPC 1000, Reason, Hypersonic, Live Drums, Fire Bird, Sytrus, Live Guitars, Live Piano, FL 8, Cubase, Sonar, Protools, M-Audio, Garage Band, and Dr. Groove.
