The music is a mix of old world and new world instruments. Stream of consciousness lyrics deal with thoughts. "Fields of thought are as real as a field of wheat, or the ever expanding cosmic field, or the ever diminishing quantum field." The war we''re fighting now is a war of thoughts with Religions and Ideals.
When we were young we learned to tread water, now in this rapid New World of information through the internet, TV and movies, we need to learn to tread thought. In this song Joe asks the question "How do you recognize thoughts?" "How can you tell who''s the enemy?". You can''t tell by the race or the country! It''s the thoughts of a group or individual. Which brings up the war at hand. If you have a God that tells you to "kill the unbeliever", then that thought is one of violence, and what kind of God would that be?
