Rafael, born and raised in the Bronx, N.Y., grew up with music in his blood. He was blessed with the gift of song ever since the day he was born.
Rafael was born January 16, 1985 at the Lincoln Hospital in the Bronx. He is the oldest of 5 children and lives with both his parents.
At the age of 4, literally after he spoke his first words, he began singing. Inspired by artists such as Michael Jackson, Stevie Wonder, Al Green, Donny Hathaway, Otis Redding and many more. Music was his passion ever since he was a little boy.
As he grew older his voice matured and grew stronger. He began singing at school talent shows as he progressed in school. At the age of 16 he was excepted to the Choir Academy of Harlem, (home of the Boys Choir of Harlem).
He felt at home there because he was getting a good high school education and was doing what he loved to do, which was to sing.
Furthermore he was trained classically which made his voice matured and grew stronger faster then some that was not trained like he was.
In the Boys Choir of Harlem, Rafael was one of the lead soloist. He was blessed with the opportunity to travel all over the United States, Puerto Rico and Japan.
Even till this day he still misses performing with the Choir and is humbly grateful to the people who helped him better himself and become the man that he is now.
Shortly after graduating from the Choir Academy of Harlem he hooked up with Esantis Washington AKA Paradise, CEO of Dise Entertainment, in the year 2003. Ever since then he has been working on his music career, whether it be writing, singing, or performing his own songs.
He currently is working on his debut album and working to achieve his goal of becoming one of the best R&B singers in the world. More importantly he is working harder then ever to help his family get out of the city and move in to a big house where they can live comfortably.
His family is one of the most important things in his life and he is willing to do any and everything he can to better their lives.
Now as a 20 year old young man he uses music as a tool to better himself as a person and to become the best he can be in life. He is forever grateful to his family for the love and support that they have given him and most importantly thankful to God, for the many blessings he has bestowed upon him.
