Details:
"Classic rock instincts with modern rock aggression," that''s how Radio Free America describes their unique brand of garage band music. Having played together since they were fourteen years old, RFA has grown up together in every conceivable sense.

Originally known as The Shoecrackers of Bethlehem, Kris Jung, Brian Levine and Cory Danziger spent the majority of their teenage years playing all of the major clubs in the Los Angeles area. For four years, they tore up venues like The Roxy, The Whiskey and Club Mancini, with sold out crowds. The band even broke a record at Doug Weston''s Troubador, with the largest attendance set by a non-touring band. To date, this record has yet to be broken.

After a brief hiatus, the band reformed as Radio Free America in 2001. With Kris Jung on vocals and guitar, Cory Danziger on vocals and guitar, Brian Levine on drums and bassist Matt Booth, the band has spent the last two years working with Producer Steve Deutsch of MARS Recording Studio. Deutsch, who is best known for his work with Van Dyke Parks, No Doubt, Iggy Pop, and The Smashing Pumpkins, recorded and produced the band''s first full length album, The Song That Saved My Life in a matter of three months. "RFA is truly a live band, that''s why laying down the initial tracks was so easy. They went into the studio, broke a few strings, and walked out with the bed of their record. That''s when the fun begins for me." Recently, the band has contributed several tracks to a variety of college rock compilations, along with providing four licensing agreements with several extreme sports programs. The band is also currently working with EMG Pickups, Meinl Musik, JTS Microphones, and Tag Team Clothing.

As 2003 begins, Radio Free America will be heading out on the road in support of their new album. The tour, kicking off in May, will cover the greater Mid-West.
