MP3 Red Eyed Driver - End of Restrictions

Dark, moody pop with three part harmonies.

12 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Modern Rock, ROCK: Emo

Details:
Red Eyed Driver has been described as dark, ambient pop with three part vocal harmonies. Their influences range from Jane’s Addiction, Jeff Buckley and Radiohead all the way to Motown, Kiss and The Pixies.
The band began when two local musicians, Bryan Hoskins and Andy Patania, met while working together as bartenders in a local south-side St. Louis restaurant, Mangia Italiano. Taking up a dozen songs from the recent catalog of Hoskins’ new material, the two practiced together sometimes for as long as five-hours at a time. They collaborated with a style that blended their voices into some of the prettiest, honey-dappled harmonies imaginable. They also honed their instruments into the hazy, interwoven, melodic place that some bands never locate.
As luck had it, Red Eyed Driver was able to attract a pair of talented St. Louis music scene veterans who were well-regarded among other players in town. Drummer, Jill Aboussie and bassist, Todd Dorsey, had already been fans of one another’s work and both had played with a variety of local acts. Along with her versatile drumming, Aboussie adds a third vocal dimension to the band which makes Red Eyed Driver’s harmonies truly unique and complete. Bassist, Todd Dorsey, heightens the intensity of the music with his fretless bass and creative style. Contributions to the R.E.D. sound were immediate and very strong from this dynamic rhythm section.
After playing together for a year, R.E.D. decided to pick up a lead guitar player in order to augment their musical depth. Jordan Heimburger is the most recent addition to the band. His technical and driving style is a perfect fit for the music.
R.E.D. has been a successful band on the local St. Louis music scene. They have played at all the top venues here, such as The Pageant, The Duck Room and Mississippi Nights, Off Broadway and Frederick’s Music Lounge. The band has received great press reviews in all of the major music publications around St. Louis, such as the Riverfront Times, Sauce Magazine, Alive Magazine and various others. They were also named one of the top 5 best new bands in St. Louis for 2005, by the Riverfront Times. Red Eyed Driver continues to work in its home town of St. Louis, Missouri, with hopes of venturing out to other U.S. and international cities. The group has recently finished its first, full length, self released album and is currently working on a second album. In total, they remain growing collectively, writing universally and tightening a gorgeous sound.
