ROCK: Hard Rock, ROCK: Classic Rock

Details:
Established in 2006, the band is based out of San Antonio, Texas.
These are professional musicians with approximately 120 years of musical experience between them. They are classified as a Rock & Roll Band.

They describe their sound as a blend of Rock, Blues, & Jazz. With influences ranging from Bad Company, Skynyrd, & Zeppelin, to Neil Young & the Scorpions, these guys have a lot to draw from.

They create their own material, so consequently they do not do any covers. A true "original" band, they can easily perform two hour shows. As a new group, it is impossible to reveal the band’s past other than to say a little about each individual’s history.

Comprised of the following:
Jimmy James on Drums & Percussion;
Jesse Massey on Lead Guitar;
Marty Robinson on Guitar & Vocals;
Craig Whitaker on Bass & Percussion

The band''s leader, Marty Robinson, has performed before hundred''s of thousands of fans throughout his long industrious career. As a member of the 70''s Rock band "Minus Franc", Mr. Robinson toured extensively throughout Europe and has opened in The States for such well known bands as Blue Oyster Cult. Marty feels it in his gut that 13six is the band that will provide him the recognition he so rightly deserves. Originally from Hartford CT, this Native American''s writing style is based on personal experience, and his ability to create a memorable "Hook" will leave you wanting more. As the band''s vocalist, who better to put real feeling into these emotion packed lyrics. A proud Vietnam Veteran, he feels it''s important to expose the truth about war, and not allow the lies to dictate the future. As these songs reveal, Warriors suffer to protect our freedom. It is important that the cause for War is just.

A San Antonio native, Drummer Jimmy James is a seasoned musician. As the previous driving force behind Southern Texas bands "Changes", "Zapata", and "Elements", Jimmy is no stranger to the stage. His style is hard rock, but his roots are R&B, Funk, Latin, Classic Rock, and Progressive Jazz. Jimmy has a complex style that is heavily influenced by percussion greats Chris Layton, Billy Cobham, and Lenny White. One of the biggest thrills of his life was the day, back in 1973, when Jimmy sat in on a session and jammed with Lynyrd Skynyrd at a club in Corpus Christi Texas. An exciting drummer to watch, he delights audiences everywhere he plays. A Drummer''s Drummer, this man knows how to put on a show, and if you''re not tapping your feet to his rhythms...well, you just might want to check your pulse.

Bassist Craig Whitaker has traversed the country with his unique style of music. With roots in Lewiston, MN., Craig would seem to be out of place in the heat of this southern Texas town. However, watch the crowds reaction to his animated, high energy stage presence and you''d think he was a local born hero. Few bass players have his ability to steal the limelight from his fellow guitarist, and he delights the audience every time he appears on stage. Not afraid to experiment with his music, Mr. Whitaker formed a unique group composed of 2 bassist''s & a drummer. Known as "BassStation", this trio stretched the boundaries of modern music beyond the word "improvised". On stage, this formally trained, highly spiritual gentleman, has earned his nickname "Crazy Legs Craig". With Jazz & Latin influences, this sometimes percussionist is an asset to the band & the world of music.

At 19 years old, Denver native Jesse Massey must have picked up a guitar before he started to walk. A true virtuoso, you will find it hard to believe he''s been alive long enough to learn to play the axe with such style. Unlike other musicians in his age bracket, this young man is influenced by classic rock, and it shows in his music. Fingers that dance along the fret board with lightning speed, not unlike an early Eddie Van Halen, Jesse is bound to make a name for himself. His exceptional instinct enhances each melody and adds a level of texture to the music that most musicians can only dream of. The combination of Mr. Massey''s youthful exuberance and the seasoned professionalism of the rest of the band make 13six a unique force to be acknowledged.

As a loosely based concept album, "Beyond & Back" is a timely release considering the blanket of anti-war anxiety covering America today. Beyond & Back is a revealing look at the emotional turmoil and the physical abuse endured by those who suffer to protect our freedom. A Warrior''s point of view, this compelling work reveals The Truth behind The Lie.

Craig Whitaker: (Bass Guitar). Born Oct 7, 1953 in Lewiston, Maine.
Craig started playing bass guitar in 1968; it was a short 2 years before he turned professional. In addition to his formal training in music at the U of M (Maine), Mr. Whitaker studied under his mentor & master spiritual teacher Al Delgado; a true Shaman. Craig’s bass style is as solid as it gets; with roots in jazz, he redefines the foundation of Rock & Roll. Craig has played in a variety of bands over the years and is considered a master at what he does. Musicians who have played with Craig will tell you it was an “adventure” & an “honor” to jam with him. When your peers respect you, it’s the ultimate compliment. Like Marty, Craig is a Vietnam Veteran and a proud American.

Jesse Massey: (Guitar). Born Sept 28, 1987 in Denver, Co.
The youngest of the group, Jesse is mature beyond his years. His fresh perspective brings a unique “edge” to the band that keeps everyone on their toes, including the audience. This is his first experience with a real Rock & Roll band and he’s taking the challenge head on. He’ll tell you he feel’s lucky to play with such “seasoned” musicians, but the truth is, the rest of the band feel''s lucky he’s come on board. Jesse runs hard with his music and he’s determined to score. Mr. Massey fires off licks that spice up the band''s sound and give it flavor. Keep your eye on this young man, he’s on fire.

Jimmy (James) Montemayor: (Drums). Born July 31, 1954 in San Antonio, TX.
Jimmy picked up his first set of drum sticks in 1970 and hasn’t put them down since. Like the story of Keith Moon and The Who, Jimmy sat in with 13six one night when their drummer was a no-show; the rest, as they say, is history. Mr. Montemayor is proud to be associated with “such a great bunch of musicians” and feels that this is “the Band” that will bring him success. With a range of experience from Rock , Pop, R&B, and Jazz, his driving influence is the heart of this band. Jimmy is known to "give it all I''ve got" and it shows. This true professional will rock your socks off.

Marty Robinson: (Guitar & Vocals). Born Oct 31, 1953 in Hartford, Conn.
Marty has been honing his musical talents since 1965. With a sound forged from tempered steel, this man’s high energy guitar licks cut through you like a knife. As the front man for a variety of bands over the years, Mr. Robinson is the epitome of Rock & Roll. A member of The Blackfoot Tribe and a Vietnam Veteran, you could not find a truer American. While his powerful lyrics may sometimes criticize, they are nonetheless, a heartfelt expression of his love for this great land. With influences stemming from Rock, Blues, and Jazz he creates a musical alloy that never ceases to entertain. From hard Rock to gentle Ballads, Marty Robinson has it all.
