Song Origins

1 I''ve Got A Thing About Doors - Another great song from
Mr. Tom T. and Miss Dixie. Just take a look at all the various doors
inside their studio and you might figure out what inspired this song.

2 Already Gone - Great new, old traditional 3/4 song by my friend
and good writing buddy Dale Haverstick, from my part of the Ozarks.

3 Cool Wind - Love the bluesy feel to this song written by another great friend and writer from the Ozarks, Charlene Summey.

4 Stobro''s Ramble - Good one buddy. It’s ‘bout time ya put yer name on a Ramble.

5. A Little Bit More – Wow! This is so “Jimmy Martin''ish”, as Mr. Tom T. told me. This was the last song written by Jimmy. (Jimmy and the Hall''s were close friends.) As is often the case with many writers, they bring their idea''s or partial songs to Mr. Tom T. or Miss Dixie for their thoughts. They made their contributions to a very good and timely song. We are so honored to be the first to record this significant song.

6. Led By a Child - As a Grandpa, the love connection between grandparent and child speaks to my heart. Glenna brought a wonderful song to me, written by her and Oren Pruitt called "Grandpa, If You''re Not In Heaven". I heard the song and loved the sentiment and reflected on a conversation with one of my own that remains special to me, so I asked Glenna if I could take liberty with the song and re-write my sentiments into it. Thanks Glenna.

7 Two Dollar Ring - Another great new old traditional song in the vein of Ralph Stanley written by my old down home Ozark buddy, Dale Haverstick.

8 Nails and Thorns - The idea for this song came from a great friend and talented picker from Missouri, Thayne Bradford; I took it and ran with it. What a price our savior paid that we might be counted worthy of a heavenly home.

9 Lainey''s Waltz - Waltz’s were a big part of early bluegrass and it seems not many folks write new ones to contribute to the music. This is a beautiful one written by Ferrell and dedicated to his loving wife, Elaine.

10 Who''s Gonna Pray - Intercessory prayer is the most effective weapon we as Christians have. I thank God for my praying Mom, who I''m sure, is still interceding for me from her home in heaven. Love you Mom.

11 With Love From Normandy - Another great song I felt compelled to record, from the pen of a great writer and contributor of new material, Brink Brinkman.

12 Broke Hearts Are Real - A good driving song written by our fine young bass player, Earon Adams. I was honored when he brought it to me for ideas and lyrics. Betcha` this is the first of many to follow from Earon.

13 Just Wanna Write a Bluegrass Song - This is definitely outside the bluegrass box. I find this song hilarious. Written by good buddy and band mate Ferrell Stowe. Ferrell has simply processed the thoughts of many would-be song writers through his dry sense of humor.
