Group members Kevin and Kristina Windham artistically known as KrisKay form an especially unique duo as they are a brother and sister duet. Their passion for music started at a very tender age. Kevin (A.K.A Young K) was introduced to the world of hip hop at the age of 8, and since then has developed a profound love for music and the entertainment industry as a whole. Since his initial introduction to the hip hop culture, Kevin began listening to all types of musical genres. Although, Kevin was enrolled in various sport activities, his passion for music inspired him to attempt writing his own songs, and at the age of 12 “Young K” knew he was going to be a musician and since then his drive has only become stronger. Throughout the years his lyrics and his mind further developed, and the things he began to talk in his music became more socially conscious. His music career; however did not start to really expand until he was 15 years of age, when he began recording out of a friends garage. “Kevin would wake up early every weekend and call his buddies to record”. They would spend countless hours listening and writing to beats. As time went by Kevin began sharing his music with his peers around school, and he would always receive positive feedback. In a time frame of 3 months of recording at his friends’ garage he managed to record a total of 12 songs, he later released on my space. It was at that time, when he realized he was going to need additional help if he wanted to take his career as an entertainer to the next level. It was then when he contacted one of the most reputable Artist Development companies in the Bay Area known as UGMX. After meeting with CEO of UGMX Mike Robinson (A.K.A Big Mike) Kevin realized, that in order to stand apart from every other rapper he would need to think out of the box, it was then that Kevin decided to approach his sister Kristina as their passion for music was what had brought them closer together, and they started to experiment with the idea of becoming a duo family R&B / Rap group. Kristina who already had a natural born talent as a singer and who is currently making her difference in the world with her music in a positive manner welcomed the idea. Knowing that she could bring more than just singing to the group as a dancer, actress, and songwriter, felt this could be an amazing opportunity to not only become even closer with her brother, but for them to be able to do what they love most and that is to create Music.
