Details:
Johnny Hyatt
Guitarist, Vocalist, Songwriter & Sound Engineer

A native of Boston Massachussetts, John showed his love of music and natural ability to play guitar at the early age of five years old. He started by studying classical guitar, then quickly branched out to other guitar techniques and styles. Through those early years of playing, John performed locally, all the while honing his chops and wowing audiences with his electrifying stage antics. This drive and passion led the young artist to the first of several record deals at the age of twenty one. His exceptional songwriting skills and natural playing abilities earned him even more acclaim when he was the featured artist in "Guitar for the Practicing Musician" magazine in December of 1990. John Stix, editor in chief, was quoted as saying " His performance is contagious and worth catching". How right he was, because in 2002 John also won Guitar Centers'' "Guitarmageddon" contest in Florida, beating out hundreds of other guitar playing hopefuls. Throughout his guitar playing career, John has recorded and/or toured with the legendary Dave Hlubek of Molly Hatchet, Stet Howland formerly of WASP and Lita Ford, Gary Nutt of Cinderella, Dave Spitz of Black Sabbath, Patrick Johanson of Yngwie Malmsteen, and most recently with Rich Lewis, Steve Unger, Stet Howland, and Chris Holmes of Where Angels Suffer. In addition to playing guitar, singing and writing, John parlayed his talents into a successful sound engineering career as well. Not limiting himself to one type of genre, style, or technique was an important factor in rounding out Johns musical ability. This way of thinking has propelled him to the front of the line ahead of many other players. Three words come to mind when you see and hear Johnny Hyatt play - talented, energetic and versatile. What is ahead for this guitar virtuoso only time will tell, but you can be sure whatever it is, John will give 110 % of his heart, soul, and love for the music that is his world.
