Jaclyn was born in Atlanta, Georgia in September of 1984 to Steve and Joni Darmody, and was welcomed by older brother, Alan. The family moved to Northwest Arkansas a few years after her birth, where Steve pastored the Gentry Seventh-Day Adventist Church and Joni taught at Ozark Adventist Academy (OAA). The Darmody''s lived in Arkansas for nearly 15 years, and Jaclyn graduated from Ozark Elementary School (now named Ozark Adventist School) and OAA (''03). When faced with the many choices of Universities to attend, Jaclyn chose not to stay in one place, like she did through grade school and academy. She completed a year and a half of her studies at Southern Adventist University in Chattanooga, TN, then studied abroad at Newbold College in Bracknell, England, and returned to the states for her final two years at Southwestern Adventist University in Keene, Texas. She graduated in 2007 with a B.S. in Communication, emphasizing in P.R. and Advertising. Jaclyn now works for the Loma Linda University School of Allied Health Professions in Loma Linda, California as their Alumni Affairs Officer and manages the annual alumni homecoming events, nationwide reunions and alumni publications.
While a senior in Academy, Jaclyn began dating Brooks Pruehs, a musically talented, spiritual, and driven young man who captured her heart. She and Brooks married on June 24, 2007. These two have always found common ground in music and the desire to lead others in a worshipful experience of God. They performed together for years in a young adult led worship team for the Younger Generation service at the Arlington Adventist Church in Arlington, Texas. Once they moved to California, they become involved in the Re:Live service for young adults that is a part of the Loma Linda University Church. Brooks has accompanied Jaclyn on his guitar for many solo performances at churches across the U.S. While not in music-mode, the happy couple have taken to the outside activities available in their home state of Southern California, and enjoy mountain biking, hiking, golfing, beach days, and the occasional snowboarding/skiing trip. Brooks is a student at the Loma Linda University Dental School and will graduate in June of 2011.
Since the age of two, Jaclyn has been a musician. From playing little songs on the piano to singing with her daddy at his concerts, she has been immersed in the world of music and has discovered how truly engrained it is in her life. Jaclyn, however, never thought a solo music ministry would be in her future. She saw the hard work and solid faith that it took her father to succeed in the business and wasn''t sure she had what it takes; but God had the plan penciled out from the start. She is now set to release her debut album in early Fall of 2010.
Over the past few years Jaclyn''s music ministry has flourished beyond what she could have expected. She has performed several times with the internationally-known singing group, The Heritage Singers; she was invited to sing with Faith First as a fill-in for Shani Judd-Diehl at a weekend retreat where the group headlined with praise music and a full-length concert; and she performed as a back-up singer for singer/songwriter/composer, Michelle Tumes. Jaclyn has been seen on LLBN, as a soloist during several Loma Linda University Church services, and will soon be featured with her Dad on Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN) on April 29, 2010 singing their duet, "Vision Of Tomorrow." She can also be seen on 3ABN and the ''06 and ''09 Voice of Prophecy Family Reunion DVD''s.
