“Once Again” marks Mr. P Chill’s return to music after a 3 year hiatus. During his downtime he explored all aspects of the hip hop culture and comes back not only showing a growing maturity towards his lyricism, but also brings to the table thoughtful lyrics covering a wide range of issues. On his opening track on the CD, “Don’t Call It A Comeback” Chill tells a little about what he has been up to since his last release “Soul In Transition” in 2007. Throughout the album, he covers issues such as a corrupt legal system in the United States and people’s lack of standing up for what is right (The Sun Used To Shine), people’s need to center themselves and find peace within (Slow Down) and shares his thoughts on love and peoples perceptions of it (Illusions). Chill also takes on other, less heavy issues such as wack emcees (Emcees Ain’t About Shit), the pressures of touring vs. loved ones (Coming Home To You) and even does an amazing parity of the classic tune by Apache, “Gangsta Bitch”, with a graffiti swing to it (Graff Head Chick).
With almost two decades on the mic, this Sacramento hip hop legend does not appear to be slowing down his stride or showing any signs of stopping on this new CD!
