Details:
Mary Pierce, Singer/Songwriter, shares her original music through her debut album, Miles Away.

“The release of this album is something I have wanted to do for many years. Everything came together over the past 2 years, and I am excited to be able to share my music. I hope that others enjoy the songs, all personally meaningful-- some playful, some serious, and some that touch the heart.”

Her soothing and clear voice, with Celtic-type qualities, has been compared to Sarah McLachlan, Natalie Merchant, Enya, and the Irish band The Coors.

Born in White Plains, New York, and raised in Greenwich, Connecticut, she has trained professionally at Carnegie Hall, has sung with the Westchester Hudson Opera Company, and since 2009, has collaborated with her sister Margaret Gianquinto, an accomplished pianist. Margaret''s arrangements on piano and guitar for several songs, along with her harmonic vocals thoughout the album, carry a rich and seamless blend of tonalities. The album is produced by David Shenton, an internationally recognized musician, Broadway musical producer and composer who has worked with such talents as Paul McCartney and Renee Fleming. His insights and arrangements on piano and cello flow effortlessly throughout each song.

Being a mother of 7 children and finding the time to write, sing, and produce songs requires balancing her many priorities.

“The process—starting with hearing the melody in my head, to allowing the lyrics to flow-- is a journey of the heart and the soul-one that you can share in and grow from. When the instrumentation is added naturally, there is a sense of accomplishment and incredible beauty- knowing the songs have been brought to their fullest.”
