M’DELA
As a little girl, Mariadela [M''DELA] would roam around her living room
in Lima, Peru, holding her plastic recorder as a microphone and
singing along to the songs of ABBA, Olivia Newton-John, and The Cure.
Who knew that her ''kid'' performances would evolve into a long music
career?
Her first album "En Silencio" defined her Latin Pop sound influenced
by rock and folk music. The album opened the door into Miami''s hot
music scene as well as Peru''s competitive radio charts. In 2007, her
song "Busca Tu Voz" [BMI] won the SOTY - Song of the Year contest, a
popular American competition with renowned jury writers from the likes
of Norah Jones and Bon Jovi.
In November of 2008, Mariadela released her sophomore album "Lineas
1000" [Peer Music - Peru] where she wrote and composed under the
direction of Grammy-nominated producer Francisco Murias Ocampo. The
production also includes Mariadela''s second single "Love Song -
Siempre Te Amare" [ASCAP] her Spanish adaptation of The Cure''s "Love
Song."
"It really spoke to me..." confessed the singer/songwriter and in her
words she said, "it reflects the longing for true love and, at the
same time, the promise that love will triumph over evil."
Being the innovative performing artist that she is, the release of
"Love Song" as a dance track in the project simply titled M''DELA
exemplifies Mariadela''s alter ego as a superhero who defends romance
one dance floor at a time.
The song was produced in Mexico City by the country''s top remixing
producer Carlos Gutierrez ''DJ Carlos G'' whose works include over 400
remixes from top selling artists such as Paulina Rubio, Ricky Martin,
and Moenia among others. The video was shot in South Beach with the
famous Miami skyline in the background and produced by TV & Music
Executive Jake Cavazos whose production credits include BMI, NBC
Universal, FOX, Warner Music Group, etc.
M''DELA''s venture into this dance project stems from a long
professional career as an award-winning songwriter and performer in
Latin America. She recently won the prestigious "Premio Orgullo
Peruano" in 2009 which recognizes and rewards the success of Peruvians
abroad.
Her true musical talent and spice are witnessed in her performance
commitments as she continues to tour in Peru and the U.S. with Latin
pride. As a multi-faceted and charismatic artist, she is writing and
exploring musical genres for a 2011 production
