In just a few short years, ORPHEUS has quickly established themselves as a rising star of the Australian and world metal scene. After releasing their E.P, ‘So It Begins’ in 2009, their unique take on the Melodic Death Metal genre and immersive live shows have seen the band gain much momentum, with their music spreading across our shores and beyond.
One of the most striking features of ORPHEUS is the age of the band; they are young, almost kids! It was a touch of irony that the band were performing in venues licensed for over 18 years of age when in fact some members of the band were not of that permitted age at that time! Being young, the upside to this act is unimaginable. How a young band is able to pull off what they do and already be on the platform of more ‘seasoned’ acts in both sound and live visual performances means that they will have talent oozing in every musician off their line up.
Industry brand names tuned into the name being thrown about at in their offices; ORPHEUS. Many brand reps turned up to check out some live shows of the band to justify what all the talk was about. One show, the bands support of Sweden’s AMON AMARTH in Melbourne was all it took. It was not long afterwards that they began fighting and climbing over themselves to endorse the band.
