This is the third CD by the Solomon Douglas Swingtet. While the previous two recordings showcased many facets of the Swingtet''s repertoire, for this one they have chosen to focus on a narrow slice of musical history: the years 1928 through 1941. Recorded in Montreal recording studio in December of 2009, the band on this album had just finished an intense two-week tour of the East Coast and was tighter and more swinging than ever before!
