Details:
Here Lies the Hero are a post-hardcore band from Texas. They started with their current lineup in 2009 and have been developing their unique style ever since. In 09'' vocalist Aaron Chaney approached guitarist/vocalist Jaxon Moore about starting a band. The two started writing together and soon recruited drummer Brandon Swilling (formerly of Outcry and Snowy Evans), guitarist Tyler Washington, and vocalist Andrew Bernal. Because of musical differences Andrew and Tyler left shortly thereafter but left the name Washington had given the band, Here Lies the Hero. Soon afterwards, the band found fill-in bassist Dustin Cernoch, and fill-in guitarist Tanner Battenfield. They played their first show with this lineup Halloween 2009. The next day drummer Brandon Swilling left the band to pursue his career and Moore and Chaney decided to scrap the material and start fresh with a new sound. Early 2010, Chaney came across drummer Dylan Koen at his church and asked him to come rehearse with them due to his unique and seasoned playing style. It was decided that Koen would be the official drummer for the new Here Lies the Hero. Following the arrival of Koen, Chaney foung guitarist Keaton Giacobbe at a friend''s house and invited him to rehearse with them. The newly formed band wrote their first song, "I''ll Forget Your Face, If You''ll Forget Mine", an anthem against two-faced friends, and soon traveled to Plano, Texas to record with Producer Bryan David. Chaney wrote and recorded the bass tracks on this song. The band then approached bassist Dustin Cernoch to return to the band full time. With a complete lineup the band started playing rigorous show schedules to build their name and share their sound. They wrote and recorded their first E.P "Tide to Sky" with Bryan David, and are planning on releasing it Mid-March 2011. Here Lies the Hero and bassist Dustin Cernoch parted ways shortly after the conclusion of recording the E.P. Reportedly they did not part on bad terms and the split was consensual. After a few tryouts the band found bassist James Tuppen (formerly of Singapore band "Saw Loser"). It was announced February 5th, 2011 that Tuppen was an official member of the band. They are now writing for their first full-length, and planning a summer tour in support of "Tide to Sky". They have been featured in the Odessa-American newspaper, and have played shows with the likes of Jamie''s Elsewhere, Gwen Stacy, No Bragging Rights, Mozart Season, and Scarlett O''Hara.
