Details:
The band Z2K is essentially the works of Paul Kaiser[Bass,Vocals] and Gary Kaiser[Guitar]. These two brothers have been writing songs together their entire lives. Coming of age in the late 1970’s, and living in Wisconsin, the music they grew up on ranges from Deep Purple to Styx to Genesis. The music style varies from song to song, and thus hard to categorize. The fact that their years of playing music together makes for a unique natural feeling that each of the songs have. OK, about the name….the original name of their first semi-pro attempt at music making was Zero 1000. (pronounced Zero One Thousand). Back in the 70’s life was a little different and the name was derived from a variation of a model number from an early generation microwave oven. At the time it made total sense. Advance ahead to the year 2000, still playing together, it made sense to change the name at the millennium to Zero 2000. So here we are at Z2K. All songs on this project were recorded in the late 1990’s, and the drumming is being provided by Don Basler. Don is also a chronic drummer, having the same need to play as Paul and Gary. Living in Central Wisconsin , allows for ample time to jam, which is also another name for having fun if you are into music. Put on the back burner until 2010, the final tracks were added to complete this project . It can now be scratched off the bucket list after 30 years. How the music industry has changed in those years and so will Z2K, currently writing new material influenced by today’s music. Look for new music from Z2K coming in the next years, not decades!
Special Thanks go to our guest vocalists: Larry Patz, Keith Abler, and Dave Sagal.
