Details:
Andrew Doyle has returned to the songwriting scene with an album not just of words but of messages, and even inspiration. “The Price”, the first single from the cd to hit the radio features Cape Breton Rock legend Matt Minglewood. It tells the story of the personal life of a Miner in a no nonsense and candid way. Doyle and Minglewood combine for a powerful performance and Matt’s vocal presence help drive home the message.

The album by the same name is a compilation of solo writings and collaborations with noted Cape Breton songwriter and producer Fred Lavery. It features songs which showcase Andrew’s growth as a songwriter and overall, as an artist. The songs carry a positive theme which permeates all tracks and features messages of perseverance, fortitude, hope and love.

With an extremely busy schedule of over 220+ shows a year, and a 22 week a year road schedule, time was at a premium and the album took a little while longer than usual to complete. That time was used wisely by the studio and Andrew to write, re-write and review everything they did to make sure they got the best product they could. The 10 track CD was Recorded at Lakewind Sound Studios in Point Aconi, Cape Breton by award-winning engineer Mike “Sheppy” Shepherd and produced by Fred Lavery.

In tracks like “Believe” the reality of having to work away from home and life on the road is expressed, but the message of love and never being alone and coming home to what really matters are the positive images you walk away with. “Don’t Let It Go” is a story of re-examining ones life told in a way which encourages one to hold on to the youthful confidence, ambition and most importantly love that we all have had and sometime loose. In the uplifting “Just the way it Goes” or “Beautiful Day” he tells us to roll with the punches and keep moving forward with a smile and positive attitude. His message is clear on this album – “…..believe there is always Hope”.

Andrew Doyle’s the price is an album well worth waiting for and a true coming of age project for this artist. “Can you believe it?”
