Dr JeebFabro''s New Album "Take The First Step" - Publicity Release

An exciting new album is born! The Album entitled: "Take The First Step", literally the debut of Elemi John E. Agbomi, MD aka Dr JeebFabro, is making a buzz as a motivational, soulful Contemporary R&B Album featuring up-tempo celebratory tracks such as: Celebrate The Passing Of Freedom''s Torch (to President Barack Obama and VP Joe Biden); Celebrating The Legacy Of A King (a tribute to the Dr MLK Dream); Let''s Take Time-off To Celebrate, among others. The ten-track, 70-minute Album with songs written, composed and produced by Dr JeebFabro himself, is replete with lyrics that are quite thought-provokingly soulful and reminiscent of sentimental songs of the 80''s and 90''s or earlier, with soothing contemporary beats that lend themselves to easy listening, ballroom dancing and nightclub grooving. The themes of these songs are based on contemporary events with an artistry that seamlessly blends the tracks into a coherent Album, much akin to a good story or play with suspense scenes and plots!

The Album opens with Track 1 entitled: Ride On, Sale High! - A treatise applauding and motivating anyone who is looked upon with hope, for some kind of "redemption" or rescue in tough times, and portrays such a character as a "Hope Superstar of Change" or a "superhero". In the context of a gloomy economy, it seemed condign for people to anticipate a panacea as characterized by the tone, response and outcome of the 2008 US presidential elections. The public generally want to confide in a superhero, whom in fictions, is seen as being able to afford a solution to their predicament!

The "superhero" field turns out to become quite competitive, and in order to be the "One" that actually has a convincing strategy to afford the hoped-for solution, perhaps a panacea, such an individual necessarily has to do some serious convincing - which gave rise to the theme of Track 2 entitled: Tell Them Your Sweet Change Story! The song motivates such an aspirant to succinctly narrate his or her case for a futuristic solution, which might fall on "fertile grounds" and engender support, or on "rocks" and generate no support from skeptics.

Such an aspiring "superhero" must be able to garner support from, and propagate the conviction in his or her cause - which gave rise to the theme of Track 3 entitled: This Is A Brand New Day - actualizing a visionary "brand new day" in the present, as the much-sought-after ideal. That builds excitement, hope and support to a crescendo!

But oftentimes, the playing field could become so competitive, that some aspirants may fall on the way side; others plagued by assorted factors beyond their control, gain or lose some grounds in their struggles. But suffice is it to know that Track 4 advises: Never Give Up On Your Dream! To keep climbing the rungs of the ladder one rung at a time; should one fail to gain the first sought-after goal, he or she will at least gain the second best - the satisfaction of having tried their best! Invariably, someone who had tried to overcome a major feat, is often remembered, praised and respected for trying, win or lose!

And hence the philosophical advocacy of Track 5 entitled: Take The First Step (in the race of life, if you must succeed) - a sensuous track with slow beats and rhythm, asserting that when one takes a first step toward one''s want, followed by successive steps, the much sought-after object or goal and the seeker progressively become a step closer until they are unified as one, and the goal is realized! Otherwise, one ends up not getting started at all! That is the Dr JeebFabro philosophy of success!

"All''s well that ends well", as was once written by Shakespeare; so naturally, jubilation follows success, and with a celebratory theme Track 6 entitled: Let''s Take Time-Off To Celebrate! - kicks-off with an up-tempo, groovy nightclub-type jam, ideal for holidays or festive celebrations.

Closely following that is by Track 7: Celebrate The Passing Of Freedom''s Torch - A patriotic up-beat rendition of the new hope for change for the US and the free world, with lyrics idealizing US leadership role and calling on all Earth peoples to celebrate with US on the new phenomenon - the passing of world''s freedom''s torch to President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden, with the US presidency being metaphorically designated as the World''s Freedom''s Torch. Why a historical phenomenon?

Historically, ancient prognosticators have prepared succeeding generations to anticipating the occurrence of future landmark events. With no exception, one such prognostication, of not so distant a past, is the almost canonized statement: "I Have A Dream". This leads us to the theme of Track 8 entitled: Celebrating The Legacy Of A King - the Dr Martin Luther King Jr - tribute song, with "King" used metaphorically as well as an appellation. An unpublished song written in Jan, 2006 but considered pertinent for inclusion in this Album to augment the celebrations of this historic moment which inaugural events of Jan 20, 2009 almost coincided with the MLK Holiday of Jan 19, 2009. Furthermore, as on that eventful night of November 4, 2008, it was moving to watch tears of joy, disbelieve, and bewilderment stream down the cheeks of close contemporaries of Dr. MLK, and of those who had lived through history, to an extent one might well find solace quoting "...mine eyes have seen ..." from Luke 2:29-32; or hysterically remarking: "This Is The Dream"! That''s a historical phenomenon!

And as we celebrate, we must not forget to pay tribute to our parents who bear and raise these "superheroes" from childhood to adulthood; some have passed away (even at the height of the 2008 US elections campaign), others are still alive to watch and be part of the history-making era; hence Track 9 entitled: Hello Papa, Hello Mama - gives us, and especially our children, a vehicle to express our sincere appreciation of our parents, as we start from them, as diminutive individuals compared to their disproportionately larger sizes; are nurtured and painstakingly protected by them as we grow, and sometimes, to even become larger than them! The song will hopefully help rekindle and strengthen the family bonds.

The Album winds-up with a touch of romance as theme of Track 10 entitled: Oh My Lover! - a serenade celebrating and appealing for solidarity and the maintenance of the bonds of love between loving couples, especially those of opposite genders - who are nature-charged with the responsibility of manifesting and transmitting that love unto their genetic progenies, whom oftentimes, in 1 in 300 million chances, are laden with the destiny of becoming the President of the United States of America - the most powerful office on planet Earth!

Dedication - This Album is especially dedicated to the Obamas, the Bidens on their accomplishment of a historic journey to the White House which in 2009, resulted in Barack Obama becoming the first African American and 44th President of the United States of America, and Joe Biden, Vice President; to Dr Martin Luther King Jr.- the prophet who envisaged the glorious future of all humans on Planet Earth when we work together; to all parents on Plant Earth, and to especially my parents: my father Elder Emin Agbomi Ekoro and my mother Mae Jane Ipam Agbomi Ekoro who, both though departed, have continued to be a source of inspiration in our work and play; to my daughter Joy Ipam Agbomi, and son Jeremy Jermaine Agbomi, the loving future torchbearers; to my sibling brothers: Elder Bassey Agbomi, departed Richard (the Lord AREA) and Robert Agbomi; to sibling sisters - Grace, Peace, Christiana, Felicia Agbomi and Mrs Sarah Adaha, all of whom provide the needed backbone and encouragement; to all my fans - the beautiful peoples of Planet Earth whose feedback serve as barometer to gauging our work. Lastly but not least, to GOD - the “Genius Of Deity” - the Superlative Mind which provide the ultimate creative inspiration.

Acknowledgment: Although an emerging solo artist who developed most of this album creatively in songwriting, lyrical composition, arrangement and production, I have also tapped and learned from the resources of others whom I wish to hereby recognize with thanks and express my indebtedness: Scott Freeson - my vocal coach and friend, for his invaluable critiquing insight; Kwame Kumah, my friend and advisor; Ryan Phillips of SpitShine, and David Scharf of In-Fidelity Studios - my engineers; Bill Sanford, my photographer; Sara Vollbrecht, my Art Designer. Esmeralda Horta, Mayra Arias, Primus Okon and Mrs Inyang Okon for their time in listening to, and critiquing the album''s work-in-progress!

I have a repertoire of over 200 sizzling songs with thought-provoking lyrics and themes covering every conceivable aspect of human endeavor - motivational, friendship, love, wedding, birthday, funeral, inspirational etc, - slow jam and high octane, up-tempo, nightclub contemporary R&B grooves yet to be produced, or in the process of being produced. Your feedback will therefore be highly appreciated as I contemplate categorizing future CD track selection based on themes, for your utmost entertainment! Thank you very much for your support.
