Big Snipes is a Bermudian recording artist and songwriter. His entire family is musically inclined. In his early years of training, Big Snipes learned classical piano under teachings of Mrs. Olivette Morris. He studied hard and moved on to playing jazz and then gospel music. He is now the Minister of Music at Glory Temple, New Testament Church of God, at Southside, St. David’s, under Pastor Blanche E. Burchall and Councilman Craig Burchall. Big Snipes married his beautiful wife, Samantha, on 6 October 2007.
Big Snipes plays 5 instruments and is an avid songwriter. Big Snipes’ first studio appearance began on Septimus’ Role Model album when he wrote a rap verse for Made By God. In January 2007, Big Snipes worked abroad and locally with Shondell Easton of Just Platinum Studios to launch his debut CD entitled The Next Level. This album included artists such as Septimus, Troy Anthony and Firekid. The album continues to do well and tracks such as Gotta Let You Know, Freeway and Cedar of Lebanon are played on the Island’s top radio stations. Big Snipes has also worked with Dainovan Tuzo and was featured on Dainovan’s Purpose Project.
In July 2010, Big Snipes was awarded 2 Underground Music Awards for his new single, “Clean Heart” featuring Riddy (his brother, Dennis Hall). The song won in the categories of Best Collaboration and Best Gospel Song.
Recently, Big Snipes ministered at the Worship Experience concert featuring William McDowell, singer/songwriter of the popular “I Give Myself Away.” Big Snipes also shared his gift on Nellie’s Walk during the Cultural Celebration. The summer will be busy for this local artist as he will minister at numerous churches, concerts and youth events. Big Snipes had the privilege of singing Bermuda’s national anthem as well as tracks from his repertoire at the ISL (Island Soccer League) All-Star Game in July 2010. He ministered at the Jamaican Association Fun Day and participated with special music in the 63rd Annual Church of God Convention in October 2010. The artist has opened for the following artists: Kirk Franklin, Tye Tribbett, Israel & New Breed, Marvin Sapp, DeWayne Woods, Marvia Providence, Lion of Judah Crew and Mario.
Big Snipes is excited to announce that he is releasing his sophomore project called BUFFET STYLE where part of the proceeds raised were donated to the Yellow Roses Rest Home. Singles from the new album are Clean Heart (feat. Riddy), Happy & You Know It (featuring Dae -Mashundae Pearman) and So In Love With You (feat. Riche Robinson). These singles and more played regularly on Bermuda''s radio stations and internet stations in the US and Europe. Big Snipes loves God and continues to do big things in music!
