Wayne is a descendent of the Darumbal People of Central Queensland Australia, he came to America to create awareness, educate and preserve one of the world’s oldest living cultures, the Australian Aborigines. He has spent the last five years in the Western Desert of Australia cultivating the art of crafting and playing the didgeridoo. In addition to a life time of training under the watchful eye of world renowned Tracker & Darumbal Elder, Frank Williams, from whom he has gained an extensive knowledge of his people and the Australian Aboriginal culture. Wayne is credited with fusing one of the worlds oldest living instruments with the modern rhythms of today’s music. This unique style of playing has created a new genre of music featuring beats from grass roots to hip-hop, combined it with high energy tribal drum rhythms that make a sound that is truly one of a kind. Wayne’s lung popping performances display infectious grooves that creates a raw energy reflecting the Australian Aboriginal culture that he grew up in. One of his main goals is to bring awareness to the Aboriginal plight through the music of the didgeridoo. With the release of his debut album titled Djun Djetti is not only an eclectic range of didgeridoo music but it makes it evident of his mastery of this ancient instrument and connection to his Aboriginal roots and mother earth. Wayne’s experiences included performing for the United Nations, indigidance, New Coffee Forum on CPTV, 91.7 WHUS Radio, 91.3 WWUH Radio, 107 WCCC Radio Mardi Gras, 90.1 WECS Radio, Hard Rock Café, Universities/ Educational Institutions around the globe, in addition to appearing at several fundraiser and local performances.
