Details:
"TD''s music launches mesmerizing journeys. Through a trance-like sound, mixed with bleeding-edge sound effects, edits, and composition, he has done the impossible. Not only creating music great for dance clubs from USA, to Europe, & Asia (the world over) but also holds the interest on a deeper level, for a "listener" of music. If Mozart were alive today, he may be making music like this."

Career

TD (t dickens) first musical experiences were in taking synthesizer and music classes at Ithaca College in Ithaca, NY in 1983. Learning timing, and effects on what was then the state of the art analog synthesizers was a genesis of interest in electronic music and recording techniques.

Later, in the 80''s TD began playing bass and singing in a hard/heavy rock group in Florida, with sounds like AC/DC meets Led Zeppelin, meets Deep Purple, meets Bad Company. The band would play in various houses and parties, attracting neighborhood crowds, who were encouraged to enter and be entertained. TD was frustrated that the group, though audibly amazing enough to attract passers by for "home/block concerts" was not more serious, and wanting to release albums and tour. The rest of the band seemed satisfied. They partied hard and were very laid back. TD, driven and wanting more, wasn''t willing to sit back and waste time.

He continued music with another rock band, again, playing base and singing. This was great experience, but TD had to make a vast turn in his life.

Thomas R. Dickens moved to Los Angeles, CA in 1989. His career took a turn when, he, a visual artist, as well as musician, formed his company, Mesozoic, Inc. which produces Special Visual Effects for Films and Television, as well as modern media, like video games. He has 21 years experience with this. During this time, Thomas made friends and acquaintances with many musicians, as well as attended many live concerts as well as classical orchestra. His musical interests broadened to accept almost every form as music as beautiful in its own way.

One concert he attended was the electronica "Organic" concert, in 1996, which featured all synth and electronica bands such as Chemical Brothers, Underworld, Orbital, and the Orb, and many other bands, in an all night/all morning show, that was overwhelming and was a life changing event opening an intense appreciation for electronica. TD began creating electronic music, using sampling software and synthesizer, mostly in an experimental phase.

TD attended many other Los Angeles based concert events, including Failthless, NIN, Sheep on Drugs, and BT. BT became one of TD''s greatest influences as to dance music that could be "listened to", and was expertly written. TD also experienced trance and electronica in Europe and Greece, and San Fransisco and Los Angeles, in late night/morning "underground" clubs. This, turned TD on to the electronic sound, more than the heavy metal sounds of his early band days. He bought a synthesizer and began playing extensively. He was inspired to play orchestral synthesized improvisational music, which has not yet been released.

TD began to explore musical software to record and created electronic music. He began creating "vividity" many years before it''s release. This album is probably 10 years in the making. For the release, many of the "older" songs needed to be revamped with newer sounds, and to keep the album consistent. A few "bonus" tracks, of older material are included on the album, one in its original form, the other enhanced with newer sounds.

TD also plays electric guitar, but plays with a heavier technique than would fit on "vividity". Perhaps future albums with a more aggressive edge will be released, but "vividity" is a very upbeat, positive, danceable, album. Heavy guitar does not fit this album, and is not on it.

With his first release, TD channels and definitively weaves musical improvisational spark, technical prowess and compositional mastery into the opus, which is "vividity". This release contains the compositions that all other composers and producers will be sure to study, and listeners will move and grove, and - listen to. "vividity" exposes TD''s influences and bends them toward his unique perceptions of song structure and sonic parity. All tracks feature his signature driving beats, breaks, and continuous interesting and surprising changes created entirely in bleeding-edge software. Feelings of euphoria, excitement, impulse to groove, and at times even strong emotions and glee come to the body, mind, soul, and ears as the sonic vibrations flow, bringing visions of beauty. This music is great for any occasion. It is relaxing to the soul, yet thought provocative, and also full driving energy. With "vividity", TD makes his mark, to become one of the most revolutionary artists and sought after producers in music as well as film and video.

“When creating my music I am constantly searching for the sounds that are all ready in my head, and getting them onto the specific place on the song, to evoke what I am after. Similar to the visual medium. Everything must fall into place. I am constantly growing, and using new tools to make the most interesting sounds. Bottom line, creation and feeling are the most important underlying factor to music and art."

“My attempt is to lift the listener higher with positive energy, raising the spirit, and emotions into a euphoric state. And to move the body, lifting it to a more-perfect state, through dance. And through a sonic event of music I wish to please, and surprise the ears".

Composition

“I am wanting to effect the listener, not only temporarily, for the moment of the song, but long term. On a spiritual level, making the listener realize that through love, and positivity, the culture can be brought closer and closer to a Utopia. The realization that we are all each others'' brother and sister and live in the same world and universe, should bring us together. Music can bring us together. I hope my music does that. I hope my music moves people. Improves people. Opens people''s minds., their hearts, their souls."
