Artistic message for CD
This program began when the singers voted on their favorite Holiday pieces from all the seasons the Society has been together (7 as a matter of fact). As would be expected, there were several well known numbers chosen plus some lesser known Christmas carols. As the director I was surprised by some of the selections but pleased with every choice. In concert we invited the audience to journey with us in time and space to a place where, perhaps, these favorite songs were heard for the very first time. We truly enjoyed every concert and hope that you will share in our joy as you listen.

Montana A Cappella Society
This remarkable vocal ensemble from the Bitterroot valley of Western Montana was formed in 2003. The Society performs regionally, promoting public awareness and audience appreciation for the art of a cappella singing. (voices without instrumental accompaniment).
Since the tradition of a cappella singing reaches centuries back in time, the Society’s musical selection range from early motets and renaissance madrigals to classic love songs, gospels, folk, patriotic, contemporary and vocal jazz. They perform several new arrangements written by the Artistic Director, who claims the group performs only popular music- any piece that was popular somewhere in the world during the past six centuries.
The Society is an all volunteer organization of non-professional singers, representing a cross section of the community from varied musical backgrounds, occupations and ages. In addition to private bookings and several major concerts a year, the group creates special programs for community events, civic organizations and schools.
