Every time impassioned Seth Perez opens his mouth he gives you everything he’s got. Truly reminiscent of heart-on-sleeve singers like R.E.M.’s Michael Stipe and Mute Math’s Paul Meany, he draws you in and shares the anxieties and the victories with you in a very personal way. His fervor lends itself to the music he creates as well. There’s always a sense of urgency in his songs. Adding another multi-instrumentalist, Robert Cates, in mid 2010 proved to open the musical possibilities both in the studio and in live settings. The two met at Lakewood Church, both being part of Joel Osteen’s music ministry where for the last two years Perez has toured with and sung background vocals with Anointed, Cindy Cruse-Ratcliff, and Israel Houghton for crowds pressing in on the 15,000 mark month in and month out. He’s also lead at several surrounding ministries which is something he loves to do regularly. Work on a 2011 EP has begun and will include production by Perez’s brother and Grammy award-winning producer Happy Perez (B.O.B., Kanye West, Cobra Starship).
