Mike Davis began his career with the seminal Long Beach, CA punk band Secret Hate. This song is a song that he wrote for that band. The song was redone on Sublime''s self titled album. After Secret Hate disbanded, Mike teamed up with Mudd Lowther of the Falling Idols, Perro Bravo, etc., Randy Bradbury of Pennywise, Chris Bradford of the Deadbeat Dad''s and Secret Hate guitarist Blake Devila. This version of the Ballad of Johnny Butt was done live at DiPiazza''s in Long Beach, and has the Stimmies'' guitarist David Hegstrom on bass. Engineered live by Funeral''s Wade Wilkins.
