Details:
Novak9Kneeland: I was born Novak Kneeland to Wilbert Alexander Kneeland and Doris Jean Roberts Kneeland in Greenville, Mississippi. My interest in music started at an early age as I sang Michael Jackson songs in preschool making a spectacal of myself either by standing on the table on walking around the classroom. My house was filled with musicians as my mother, sisters and brothers all either sang, played piano or both. By the age of 4, I taught myself how to play the piano by ear by listening to everyone play. My first Singing gig was in the fouth grade as a singing judge in the school play. The next year I was chosen as the soloist in the elementary school choir. Though I was a great singer, my interest in musical instruments lead me to join the Jr. High School band where I learn to play the tuba and advanced to the A band in 3 months. The next year a was appointed the Drum Major and Student Conductor of the band. By the Ninth grade my musical abilities were outstanding as I was ranked the 9th best tuba player in the state. Also under my directions, our band at Coleman Jr. High School ranked number 1 at the state contest which had not been done in more than 30 years. My interest in music continued throughout high school where I continued being Drum Major, Student Conductor, wrote music, co- wrote lyric to the class song and was voted best singer by my peirs. In colledge, I joined my first band, Midnite Madness. We perfomed on the campus and locally. Onward, I joined another band by the name of Stardom. We were a traveling band playing nite clubs and colledge campuses. Soon after my journey would lead me to California where I again joined another band called Jamaica Inc. This was a Reggae band that played for all occasions locally and abroad. In the mean time I had a strong disire to record my own songs so I started to buy recording equiptment and all the instruments to produce records. I then started to produce records for indie labels and songs for B movies. A few years later I met Mark Walberg and became his lead singer in his group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch. We toured Europe and filmed videos that aired in Europe. Several bands and several years later I still maintain my love for music. I am currently producing records for myself as a indepent artist. My Skills include but are not limited to playing the paino, tuba, bass guitar, electric and acoustic guitar, drums, percussion, song writing, singing, lead and background, recording instruments and vocals, mixing, editing and mastering. All of my song are written, composed, perfomed, produced, recorded and mastered by me. I hope you enjoy them as this is who I am.
