These new and innovative arrangements cover a wide spectrum of jazz styles, featuring the sounds of early Dixieland, the Big Band Swing era, Cool Jazz, Bebop, Latin Jazz, all the way to contemporary modern jazz. Compositions by some of the greatest innovators in jazz history are showcased, including an original four-movement piece by jazz legend Paquito D''Rivera. Virtuosic ensemble performance, interesting music, unique stories, engaging interaction with the audience, and lots of chuckles make two hours of delightful fun for Westwind Brass'' audiences.

There is little in the musical lexicon that they cannot tackle and perform well. Their uniqueness lies in their ability to perform at a high level the entire spectrum of brass music.

The Los Angeles Times and others have acclaimed Westwind Brass for virtuosity, musical integrity, and diverse programming. In residence at San Diego State University the ensemble has captured prizes at two international brass competitions and has toured internationally in Japan, Mexico, and across the United States. The ensemble is on the touring roster of the California Arts Council.
