Details:
Tyler Riggs songwriting is honest and from the heart. While his work spans many genres, the product is always imprinted with his unique soul. In addtion to releasing music under his own name, he has been a part of many groups including The Tallboys, Consolidated/Free Music Stop Amerikkka, Autopilot, Jesus Burger, Die Kapitalist Pig, Madman Prophecies, The Tembers, Force Fu, and Snikative.

Tyler was raised in the dirty blue collar community of Turner, Oregon, a dried up mill town with a population of 800. Most residents worked in factories in nearby Salem or at the canneries in Stayton. He excelled in grade school music class, picking up the saxophone in a mere week. He also learned to play the organ from his Great-grandmother Cooper''s old Christmas and religious music books.

Tyler decided against being a "band geek" in middle school and instead dedicated most of his time to freestyle BMX, hiking, swimming in the river, walking the old railroad tracks, and chasing girls (usually away). He was always an unusual child. His bipolar mood swings left him with few friends and a myriad of frustrations. These themes of disappointment and alienation would dominate his early prose and songwriting.

At the age of 17, Tyler traded in his saxophone for an electric guitar and began teaching himself songs like "Bone Machine" (the Pixies) and "Stray Cat Strut," (The Stray Cats). Four years later, in Arcata, California, he formed his first band, The Slut Puppies. And so began his lifes devotion to music...

In his 23rd year he moved to Portland, Oregon with some old college friends. They formed The Tallboys, an alt-country band with Nick Levine and Kyle Chilla (of Portland pop group Welsh Rabbit). Later he co-founded the noise band Jesus Burger. Soon rock bands Xila, Die Kapitalist Pig, and Curious Hands were born. He also found time to perform with legendary industrial-rap-protest group Consolidated. He also assistied in recording King of Spain and Welsh Rabbit at Powell House Studios. At Holgate House Studios, Tyler recorded and produced Autopilot''s haunting digital record "The Snikative Session," rap group Force Fu, Frank Freeman of Flightless Bird, Rebeca Blain, poet Ana Cooke, Craig as a Verb, and countless sessions of Jesus Burger.
