MP3 The Transmissionary Six - Transmissionary Six
A dreamy cloud far west of hope
10 MP3 Songs
ROCK: Americana, FOLK: Power-folk
Details:
The first review to appear of this record called it "a cloudy dream far west of hope". So there you go.
All ten tracks were co-written by Paul Austin (former Willard Grant Conspiracy guy) and Terri Moeller (Walkabouts) and were put to tape by Tucker "Mount Analog" Martine, who''s worked on such diverse stuff as Laura Veirs, Modest Mouse, Downpilot, Land of the Loops, Jesse Sykes, "out there" jazz cat Wayne Horvitz and "in there" jazz cat Bill Frisell. Mixing acoustic instruments with ambient field recordings and occasional electronic gristle and wheeze, this staunchly slow-fi record sounds savagely beautiful very late at night or very early in the morning. Listening to it in bright sunlight, however, can be strangely unsatisfying.
There are two other releases by the Transmissionary Six available on CD Baby as well!
