Arun Luthra completed his B.F.A. in jazz and contemporary music in 1996 in New York after extensive studies with such major artistic and educational figures as Reggie Workman, JoAnne Brackeen, Joe Chambers, Lee Konitz, Armen Donelian, Rory Stuart, Jimmy Owens, Vincent Herring, Tim Berne, Billy Harper, George Garzone, John Stubblefield, Andy McKee, Bernard Purdie, Loren Schoenberg, Charli Persip, and Maria Schneider.
