MP3 Tadhg Cooke - The Secret EP

An Irish Paul Simon ripping out the jazz fags while humming some vaguely familiar Joni Mitchell tune, walking home from a boozy late lunch with The Zombies that turned into a night spent out dancing all night long to Phoenix''s "Alphabetical".

Tadhg Cooke''s solo debut crisscrosses so many terrains that your musical compass may quiver with the sheer magnetic challenge of Wax & Seal... Eminently likeable, utterly enviable. ****

phenomenal songwriter Tadhg Cooke from Ireland... His dreamy songs that float between melancholy and wit are acoustic pop pearls with a breath''s touch of jazz, sung with a velvet voice to a virtuoso guitar, indeed a small sensation!

FAQ : How is Tadhg pronounced?
Answer : It''s pronounced like "tiger" without the "er" sound".....

Born. Raised. Sang. Bought guitar. Learnt how to play. Played. Decided to record. Forced into college by a couple of parents. Finished in a daze. Took time out to "find myself". Found myself. I was here all along. Got bits and pieces together. Ran away to Germany. Recorded debut album in the basement of an old townhouse situated right in the dead centre of the Altstadt of Freiburg. Released "Wax & Seal" independently in Ireland to rave reviews. Played numerous tours around the country including stints in Vicar Street and The Olympia Theatre. Played coffeeshops and wine bars around Ireland, starting something a little bit different. Did live radio sessions all over Ireland. Derry and Northern Ireland became "Tadhg Cooke Country" while Gerry Anderson on BBC Ulster plays the record every day for a few months.

The record also picked up international plays on "Morning Becomes Eclectic" and "Broadband" on KCRW in the States, and also in Malaysia, Australia and various other fairly random places. Pretended this was the plan all along. Grinned knowingly.

Two Irish prime time TV appearances within a week on RTE1 in July/August rose the profile. Got to meet and play with The Troggs, Paul Carrack (from Mike and The Mechanics and Squeeze), Nick Lowe, Dr Hook, Phil Coulter and play with various ex-members of Van Morrison''s band... all on the same day... very strange.

Many more radio and tv and touring appearances later, recorded live gig in a living room. This recording will see the light of day soon. Hit Watford in the UK for the first time. Plan to return in May 2006.

Sales increased exponentially. Bought helicopter. Bought third home in Venezuala. Killed nightclub security guard in mix-up over salted peanuts.... Actually this paragraph I made up... For more accurate information please visit the website - THANK YOU!
