Details:
Takim''s debut album "I Can''t Go Back" is the tale of a young mans life''s travel that he does not want to change, but will never return to. Just growing up in the inner city of South Central Los Angeles is challenging. How about worshiping the name of the lord, maintaining your faith in God, and keeping focused Spiritually all while trying to find your place in the world as a young Christian man. These are some of the things that helped format Takim''s first solo album debut.

With this independent solo release, he hopes to get the attention of the people of the gospel music industry. He also desires to give any and everyone that hears it a touch, push, or inspirational lift from some of the things that God has given him to share and deliver. Takim is a Minister at Faith Inspirational Missionary Baptist Church where the goal is "Saving Souls and Changing Lives". Takim has taken on this motto as his own as he prepares to embark on his "Ministry Through Song".

The Hype Man, he gets the party started. You know the one person that gets you in the mode for listening. He is the one that brings the entire congregation to their feet as they prepare to worship the lord in song. He is one of the leaders of the Praise and Worship portion of the service. This is not by accident that he is extremely talented at performing and preparing the congregation, or if in concert, the crowd. Energy, liveliness, and active on the stage.

Takim spent years performing as a Hip-Hop artist bringing the listeners to their feet, the crowd rhyming with him as he sings the lyrics to the songs. He has transformed that same energy into his gospel presentations. Helping us to worship and praise the Lord. I Can''t Go Back will surely help with that mission. This album showcases Takim''s diversity as a true musical talent.

One album giving to you chants for your praise times, the smoothness of R&B, the overall comfort of a classic ballad, and the thrill of today''s hip-hop. "There are times when I want to turn up the bass in my truck and have it bangin''. Having the people in the street bobbin their heads to the beat of the Lord. Let that word of God sneak up on them and hit them like a ton of bricks. There are other times when I want to just cry and thank God for what he has done in my life."

The album title itself "I Can''t Go Back" holds an important meaning for Takim. "It''s a commitment to God that I will not return to that of which he has delivered me." He says "It''s the very least that I can do." His thoughts on not going back are heard in the song "I Can''t Go Back". His journey while dealing with the streets trying to obtain the things that are seen as prosperous by society. A story of how Satan plays tricks on you by giving you material happiness, when all you really need is Jesus.

"I can''t go back, no, no I wont, back to the way that I was living when I was running wild. Out on the Streets doing wrong before I met God and he saved my soul".
"After you decide that you are going to live your life the way God called you to, that is when you are faced with the most challenges." Takim says. "That''s when you turn on STAND." "Stand" is a song that tells you what you have to do to find power in your fight against your adversaries. "Stand lets you know that if you just rely on God, never give up, and keep your faith he will make a way. But first we have to S.T.A.N.D., stand strong in his word." He says.

The song "How Can You Say" is a song given to him by God, so Takim speaks these words directly as they were said to him. The message in the song says, "How can you say that you love me when you can''t love the man standing next to you." He wanted to share this enlightenment God brought to him with all of us. He says the words were given as guidance and for structure to let us know we need to love our neighbor, as we love ourselves. This song speaks to your heart and your soul.

There are several other tracks that provide a great insight into the world of Rev. Takim Brown. One of those songs is "Kick Rocks." Kick Rocks is an aggressive inner city term for Leave Now or Get Out. What he says in this song is that if we are not real with our walk in our Christianity we need to move and get out the way. "These 3 Words", "My Heart" and "If you don''t know" will provide you with a blessing of his spirit telling you of the love of the Lord.

"Storm" is a adoring song of encouragement with a soft piano melody playing that gives a comfort as it wraps around the soothing, heartfelt vocals of Takim. Just as the storms that come in the night will pass, so will the trails and tribulations of life when we turn those problems over to God. "Party" and "Party the Remix" are rapturous, hip-hop expressions of excited glorifications to the Lord. Takim is responsible for the writing of all songs on this project, while new comer Desmond provided the production.

Takim''s teenage years were spent in Los Angeles where he attended and graduated from Washington High School, during which he received a football scholarship to Washington State University. While at Washington State he pledged and became a member of the prestigious Omega Psi Phi fraternity. With the football scholarship came his dreams of one-day playing professional football. His plan was not the same as the Lords. The Lord had a different route for him to travel.

After college Takim came home and rejoined his hometown friends as they embarked on a successful journey in the hip-hop industry. In the peak of his enthusiastic endeavor he learned that was not were Jesus called him to use his musical talents. Those talents were to be used to worship him and to spread the joy of serving the Lord. This led him to the group SELAH where he performed as one of the lead singers.

Takim''s growth in the word of God grew and he began to be called to a position of a solo artist. His management team, BruJan Management supported this decision and assisted with the transformation from a group member to solo artist. Henceforth begins the start of the Journey of completion towards "I Can''t Go Back", Takim''s first solo release. " I want to serve God. Whatever he places in front of me I will do. I just want to serve the lord."
