Based out of a former 19th century mill in Ancoats - a once dark and ever so satanic part of Manchester''s cotton past, come The Silent parade.
Formed as 2005 came to a close, the quartet began working on a clutch of songs that bore immediate, dramatic and intense results. They marry heavy rhythms with soaring vocals that range from fragile croons to stomach clenching roars, all soaked in layer upon layer of guitars.
Arriving at this point via influences as wide ranging as Aphex Twin, The Beatles, Nick Drake and The Mars Volta, it is also possible to detect more than a little bit of Radiohead, Mansun, Placebo, Muse and My Vitriol, as well as shades of their Manchester compatriots Doves, Elbow and Oceansize - all slotting beautifully together to create a sound that is equal parts soothing and scorching.
